My current version of Outlaws was made just from a single box-scan. By now I have a few more box scans, but a poster will surely offer much better quality. Any chance to get it scanned? And what else do you have?
-
Yeah, colors are more muted, but that's how they look on the art print. And that one was most likely supervised by Steve Purcell himself. Also the colors on the boxes are overly contrasty and generally quite inconsistent.

I finally had the courage to take my "Sam & Max Hit the Road" print out of its frame and scan it. All three posters have been replaced in the main post. The upgrade in quality is quite extreme, so here are a few comparisons at full size:

I've cleaned up all the maps as well. They'll be used in the LRG box. -
Telltale's Sam & Max games getting remastered

The way I see it, white people are privileged enough in the western world. And being white, I couldn't even imagine feeling a victim of racism if I was a voice actor and I was replaced by a black actor (ESPECIALLY for a black role). -

As the resident poster guy, I feel it's my civic duty to ask if there's a textless version of Bill Eaken's artwork available? -
Just wanted to say thank you to you all for keeping it alive

I feel so sorry for you guys getting negative reviews because of these assholes. There is no logical explanation for their outrage (and tons of logic to counter it), so it's really only wasted energy to even try it. I sincerely hope none of this stands in the way of further remasters. -

Maybe by now I'm just a grumpy old fart, but I don't remember the internet being so vile 10 years ago. Then again I've never read the Steam or GOG forums very much. And I fondly remember both the Telltale and Mojo forums to always be a wonderful place to hang out at. -
It's finished, but since Limited Run Games are using it somewhere in their Collector's Edition (probably the book), I'll hold it off for now. Once pre-orders are through, I'll add it to the thread. I've cleaned it up quite a bit and extended it with all the sources I could find:

The Monkey Island box set from Limited Run Games
Laserschwert replied to Udvarnoky's topic in General Discussion
First and foremost it contains interviews with all the major players... Ron, Tim, Dave, Steve Purcell, Bill Tiller, Dom (at least these are the ones I know about, most likely there's many more). The book is being edited by Jeremy Parish of Retronauts-fame, who also conducted most of the interviews, as far as I know. -

I won't be sharing any artwork from the release until after pre-orders have closed on it. But come February 2021, I'll fire away 😉 And thanks for noticing what I went for with my design. I basically wanted to introduce a new border pattern that fit the existing boxes, but still felt new. While the marble pattern in this state is in fact an original design by me, it's heavily based on this pattern I found and used for my first mockup: https://munroandkerr.co.uk/products/blue-04-marbled-paper-coolie-lampshade Also the dark-blue/gold of the pattern and the black/gold of the logo were supposed to underline the premium value of the box. But I guess Disney wanted to tie it in more with SoMI's green and the current coloring of the logos via the SE's... marketing be damned. But I think it must have been a nightmare getting so many different pieces approved, so I'm still happy how it turned out. -

Furthermore the format of the box somewhat dictated the size and position of the front artwork. It has a removable lid on top, so I needed to stay clear of that seam, plus the artwork didn't allow for much cropping, without restraining the size of the logo too much. The border is a bit narrower on LRG's adjusted version though, plus good call on making the marbling smaller. -

Looks like the LRG website still uses my version of the box: The gold around the logo and the Anthology subtitle were supposed to be stamped gold foil. -

Yeah, the box is very close to the design I pitched them. The marble borders were not only my idea, but are still using my design as well, as was the idea to use the MI2 concept art. It looks like Disney requested a few changes (the MI anthology logo in my design stuck to the black/gold aesthetic of their original design, but I guess that strayed too far from current MI logos). But I'd say the whole release is a major improvement. -
Telltale's Sam & Max games getting remastered
Laserschwert replied to Udvarnoky's topic in General Discussion
Keep in mind though that they are not making any changes to the existing games (to my knowledge). So a game that gets updated to better fit in with the current world technology-wise, might just as well get updated society-wise too. It certainly won't alter my enjoyment of the product, if the new actor's performance is equally good (or even better). -
Telltale's Sam & Max games getting remastered
Laserschwert replied to Udvarnoky's topic in General Discussion
Why exactly are you assuming that the devs did it to please someone other than themselves? If it's THEIR wish to make this change, because it reflects THEIR political views, what bad place is that exactly? -
I've made a scan of the promo poster, but haven't cleaned it up yet: Also the artwork on there is cropped, so I'll still need good material for a complete version (although aside from a tiny Topps trading card, I've never seen a full version of it). Edit: The Mega-CD version seems to be a good source for extending the artwork:

Good bye, chunky Sam... 😞 Still, I'm thrilled for this! -
Don't worry, that is absolutely on my to-do list.

I am very sorry to inform you, that I have added the artworks to the Monkey Island Special Editions to the thread.

You guys have huge boxes like that, and I, like a fool, had to scan puny regular sized ones? You disgust me!

Frank has made a scan of the official poster (the one Jake has as well). Currently it will most likely be used by Limited Run Games, so we are not sharing it just yet.
