  1. There's a lot of music in the game, so I'm curious... if you had to pick one location, which one would have your favorite music? (This poll is a part of a larger scientific study.)
  2. Currently on part 2, and I absolutely need to know if I'm only able to play an hour or two a day and I don't want to spend the next however-long tearing the game apart for an answer that never comes. I just want my life back.
  3. Hello there, I have beaten twice this game (still loving it), and I am trying to slowly get all of the achievemtents (still missing a lot, but hey) However, one REALLY scares me: the speedrunner achievements to finish the game in less than two hours. Can any of you give me tips on what to do and reduce as much time as possible across the game? I am not even sure I can reach Monkey Island in less than two hours!
  4. I'd like to replay the game at some point and see things like Cogg Island and maybe even go for the "Trivia Lord" achievement, but I'm a little hesitant not knowing exactly how Trivia Cards work, and thus whether a full second run would be assured of finding them all: what determines whether they spawn in a room? Is the total pool of cards tracked across multiple savegames/runs (ie the way achievements are clearly tracked, such that you access them via the main menu not the pause menu from within a specific game session)? If I got a particular trivia question wrong on my first play of the game, will that card show up again on a second run? Do specific cards always show in specific places (ie is there a place I can go to reliably get the Cogg Island card?) Probably a few other things I'd like to know about em but those are the main ones. Thanks! If nobody knows, feel free to use this thread to research and speculate!
  5. We all know that LeChucks voice actor has changed as the former didn't want the job anymore. But I have noticed that the voice actor of Gullet (or Gullit) - one of the zombies of LeChucks crew - actually sounds more like the former LeChuck. At least to my ears. Any idea who voiced this Zombie? Have you had the same impression?
  6. Does anyone have any idea how to take ReMI apart to get hand on some of these graphics. I was thinking about doing a few maps of this game as a personal project or creating one of these pamphlets Guybrush is carrying around. But how to get these graphics except of takin screenshots? Or maybe even getting other graphics of this game as well.
  7. Hi everyone, the wish for a soundtrack has already been expressed several times and since I myself can hardly wait to hear the great tracks from our MI trio all around the clock, I would like to do the work in the next few days (weeks?) and record the most important cues (= almost all) so that you can hear them as a nicely edited soundtrack. A few pieces are already on YouTube - but that was only five pieces so far and nothing really followed or has anyone seen/heard anything else there? Also an official soundtrack (if at all) could take some time to get released (too much time). Before I start, I wanted to ask if someone else is already working on it. There is no need to do the work twice... I also wanted to know if anyone knows what the legal situation is. I think recording and listening to the music for my own purposes should not be a problem. But how would it be, if I want to share them here with the forum or upload them to YouTube, so that others could listen to them as well? Could I get in trouble with that?
  8. Keeping the title spoiler free, but this is definitely a spoiler thread. Has anyone found and visited the other island in the game? Not the tiny one hidden in the crooks of the map that you need to find to complete the game, but the whole secret island sunken beneath the sea? If you get the trivia card about Cogg Island, and see an answer that looks like map coordinates, pick the coordinates and then sail there and dive into the ocean! I haven’t done this yet but watched a YouTube video about it and, immediately switched it off because it looked substantial I want to explore it for myself, but there’s a whole other place hidden inside the game, attached to the trivia card sub-game.
  9. WARNING: THIS THREAD AND ARTICLE ARE AS SPOILERY AS IT GETS! It turns out that the very end of Return gets pretty ragged and frayed; the different things you do in the final few scenes can tip the games conclusion and epilogue in many directions. Mojo has compiled all the ones they’ve found so far and it’s already a whopping ten variations. That article is a great writeup of what’s currently known about the different endings and epilogues including full video capture of all of them and how to get them. (Pour one out for the Mojo staffers who watched the entire credit sequence dozens of times to tease all these endings out and then verify how they are reached!)
  10. I thought the spoilery forum might be the best place for a thread about people's favorite references to previous games or other games in RTMI. I'll start off by sharing my favorite - the callback to the original ADVENTURE (Collosal Cave Adventure) in the XYZZY sign: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xyzzy_(computing)

  12. When the game was first announced for Steam and… small gasp… Nintendo Switch I couldn’t figure out why. Mr. Gilbert had said the amount of orders for Thimbleweed Park in Switch was quite high so that is why they did these two systems first. I literally left for vacation the day RtMI came out so the Switch was my only option. After playing through the whole thing on hard on it I can say I absolutely love the control scheme. It was intuitive and easy to use to solve puzzles. Very much would try more point n click adventures on this little device again.
  13. Any idea A) how to win the race against Chuckie or B) how to feed the duck? for A) I wished another scurvy dog from the wishing well and Chickie ate it but he was still not slowing down. for B) the „parents“ don’t let us near the bread
  14. This game has approximately one infinity little details that are good. I'm going to list a few of the ones I liked here. These are probably bigger things than the main "Details of Monkey Island" thread, because I'm not feeling the need to drill so deep yet, but it's in that spirit: Stuff that didn't need to be there but made me happy or excited me. Not sure how to spoiler tag this so I'll just go whole hog, but if that isn't necessary we can just leave them open?? A thing in the prologue: A cool thing in part 1: A couple good details in part 4: There are many more but there are a few that came to mind when thinking back on my playthrough.
  15. Use this thread if you've just started playing and want to talk about the early game, without getting into the rest. If you've played the Prologue and are just getting into Part One, but don't want late game spoilers, this is the thread for you. My simple take is... I love how this game starts. It's absolutely nothing I would have expected. It was a delight to be playing through and having absolutely no idea what was happening, or would happen next, until the ground finally slowly came in underneath me.
  16. Hey folks, here are a few guidelines for this forum: Before starting a new thread, look to see if your comments could fit in an existing one! If not, feel free to start new threads! Please tag your post appropriately! Every post will eventually be tagged as "return spoilers" but beyond that, try to add one tag for the latest part of the game you're discussing. The recommended tags are: Early Game (for the prologue, menus, any very early content up through the start of part 1) Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, etc (pick just one, for the farthest part of the game you're talking about) Late Game (for any discussion that you want to have about the end of the game, the whole game, any post-game thoughts) Please keep spoilers out of your thread titles. And finally, remember that this is a SPOILER FORUM. By visiting it, you might be spoiled! You'll have no one to blame but yourself by coming in here at all. ⚠️ If you don't want to be here, you can ignore this forum by going back to the General Discussion area, and clicking "IGNORE." It will be hidden from search results until you stop ignoring it.
  17. Somehow Monkey Island returned... And we're playing it. I was fortunate enough to be a playtester on the game so I already got to the end a while back. I am extremely eager to discuss the entire game with all of you so I made this thread. I'm guessing it'll take a little while for others to get there but in the meantime this thread is GAME WIDE spoilers. That means ending discussion etc is fair game in here! I'm going to hold off on posting my thoughts for a minute so some others can catch up but... I can't wait. It's been a long few months holy hell.
