Try the samples here: http://www.guitar9.com/hightensionwires.html

This is my favorite of his solo records.

This is my favorite of his work with The Dixie Dregs (aka: The Dregs)

My favorite tracks are:

Ghostwind

Highland Wedding

Hereafter

The Great Spectacular

Day 444

Kat Food

Odyssey

You can find samples of all of these titles on that site. It's too bad they are so short, but this should give you a taste anyway.

He has also played with Kansas, and is currently filling the Richie Blackmore spot in Deep Purple.

It's mostly instrumental stuff, although there are a few vocal tracks mixed in once in a while. His classical guitar playing is fabulous (unfortunately under-represented by the samples on this site,) and that influence carries over into his other stuff.

Cool, I've listened to some of Steve Morse's music and they're awesome. I especially like his acoustic work such as Go For Baroque and High Tension Wires.

I will listen to more at tell you how my opinion evolves...

I like Tumini Notes too.

By the way edlib, what do you think of the Bowed Guitar ?

I think it sounds pretty cool. I wonder how much they cost. My bet is in the expensive level because I'm sure there's very few of them and are probably only made when ordered...

uhu.

I guess correct spelling and grammar is the last thing you worry about when you chat or leave messages on the net. That's why there's guys like the one who's responsible for http://www.freespeling.com (with one l) who are on a crusade to try and change or "upgrade" what is now known as English.

By the way, about freaky weird looking guitars, check these out:

http://home.earthlink.net/~bujin/Viotar.html

And I wonder how the hell you're suppose to handle these:

http://www.cag.lcs.mit.edu/~diego/guitars.html

But I guess you've seen those from the last link since they're exposed in the Museum Of Fine Arts in Boston.

That is all. :o

Anyway, I thought he was a professional musician or sound guy or something like that, so he must be fairly good.

Are you talkin' bout me?!?? ;)

Good? I don't really think so. But then I wouldn't be much of a musician if I didn't see constant room for improvement (in this case MUCH improvement.)

I'm not really a professional musician. I tend to call myself a "Semi-Pro" simply because I have been in situations where I have been payed for my playing, but never enough to really call it a career (unlike my dad, who has been professional since he was a kid, and has never held a day job.)

I guess that I can't even really call myself that anymore, since I haven't done any playing outside of my house for a couple of years now and I'm seriously out of practice at this point. Perhaps I should downgrade to "Experienced Amateur" or something like that...

Both Jem and Nitro can truly give you a better sense of the quality of my playing, since they both have a copy of a rather amusing CD that I recorded with a couple of friends one afternoon just jamming in the studio. Perhaps one of them will grace us with a review at some point.

Right now I'm working as a house sound engineer and stage-manager of Berklee College Of Music's (in Boston) main concert venue, (website: http://berkleebpc.com/default.html) as well as partly overseeing the operation and maintenance of the school's other, smaller recital halls. We do over 1200 shows a year,.. everything from student solo piano recitals to faculty led big bands to full-on 3-semi national tours. I also occasionally do some freelance work around town at various clubs and halls.

I can sum it up in one word: Priceless. :D
