Swoosh
Alright, so my cell phone was stolen last night from my very own house. They were some unwanted people that showed up to my party and I guess they decided they needed to make an urgent phone call to Mexico with my phone. Wait...they actually made 62 calls. But anyways, I was thinking about it today and I've decided that cell phones suck. EVERYONE has one, but no one's life is really better now that we have cell phones. All it is is another expense and thing to worry about having stolen. But, when I went to the Verizon store today, it was packed. Why are we Americans so sad? :| Swoosh
Boba Rhett
I agree with you but they are great for emergency road side services. That alone is worth the price for me.
DarkLord60
I bought mine and month later I left it out in the rain in the driveway where I ran over it luckly I have a gravel driveway and it press it into ground so it wasn't smashed but the speaker didn't work for a couple of days till I got agressive towards it
ZBomber
I got a cell phone, and I often worry about losing it. I also worry about it going off in school, during a class. I bring it to school in case of emergencys, and I already had to use it this year.

Neverhoodian
Cell phones should only be used for emergencies. I've seen far too many people chatting on cell phones while they're driving, making them a holy terror on the road. It's also extremely frustrating to be watching a musical and have an electronic "Beethoven's 5th" blare out of a cell phone during a quiet scene. I volunteer at my town's library, and there's this guy who always makes business calls on his cell phone. The guy practically shouts into the phone, disrupting any and all readers in the vicinity. In short, cell phones are only good for emergencies. Otherwise, they're a nusiance and a general pain in the rear.

Ratmjedi
I think that there is nothing really wrong with cellphones. When your in school just put it on vibrate so that it doesn't bug anyone else other than you. I've never really driven while talking on the phone except for a few times where I was trying to figure out where my friends were going or was getting a call from my mom but I was on the phone for maybe like 30 seconds at the most. I think there good cause you can get calls anywhere incase you want to call anyone. Plus if you are at work do you really want to wait for a payphone? I've never really had anything happen where my cell phone was stolen or my friends. Losing it may be a problem but other than that how can you get it stolen. Keep it in your pocket or in a certain place in your room and you should be fine. As to people using your phone make sure that you lock it. I have a keyguard so that it wont make any calls while in my pocket but I also have a feature which makes me enter a code into my phone after I've turned it on so that people can't use it or if it is stolen. The only thing I find annoying is when people ask can I use its ok for emergency's just as long as the person isn't abusing it. If they are just say your out of minutes. I don't see why so many people hate them.

TheJackal
I hate cells too. I find no use. Telephone booths are everywhere. If I need to make a call that bad I'd go out of my way to find a phone. Plus I dont have a cellphone so when I go out PEOPLE CAN'T REACH ME. I know it sounds weird, but that's one of the reasons i don't get one. I mean... I use the phone for obvious reasons. Reaching someone to meet somewhere. To contact a client or whatever. If I'm in public chances are I wont need to contact a client to discuss a contract. And I'm one of the type of people who hate big trends. I like styles, designs, etc. But cellphones used to be tool, something usefull. now its a damn fashion statement. Its worst than those trucker mesh hats! There's nothing worst than seeing a 12 year old kid bitching at his mom on his/her cellphone she probebly bought him/her for his/her birthday. And that, ananymous people of the internet, was my rant. Hey Mat! what's up? Haven't talked to you in a while, eh! How's the business?

Chewbacco
My dad uses his cell phone a lot. There was one month that the bill was at the cost of $1,567.47! But thank goodness that the company pays for it. That could be the other problem. People might have to go into there savings to pay for their bills if they are independent meaning that they have their own business. Heck I am starting to mumble, I don't know where I am going at here.
Swoosh
Hey Jackal, business is alright...I was actually expecting a call from a client today on my cell phone . Another thing that bothers me about cell phones is the way people use them. DON'T talk on your cell phone when you are hanging out with friends. Talk to the person who is actually there. DON'T walk into a class with your phone stuck to your ear only to have it resume that position when you walk out of class. This rule especially applies to girls cause it makes it difficult for us to talk to you. DON'T talk on it in the car (especially if you are already a bad driver). DON'T use the handsfree kit when walking around. No one knows if you are talking to them or just yourself. Those are my tips
DarkLord60
I agree I think people use them to look cool most of the time or like the jackal said they are little brats who are just spoiled rotten.
Jared
I have a cell phone...and I don't think I could survive without. ^^ I cant live without text messages. Or the fact that I can call whoever I want, whenever I want, for no reason at all. And thats cool.
BawBag™
I don't hate mobiles but I can live without one. Only recently I went contract for the 200 free minutes + 200 texts. That for me works fine, as my mobile is really the only phone I use. (I find it more polite to run up my own bill rather than my parents). But a lot of you have mentioned the use for phones incase of the likes of breakdowns. This is possibly the most practical use for cells. Plus mobiles are good for businesses. I'm sure a lot of people know that. The thing about losing your phone - that's why you have the ability to lock the keypad and/or put a PIN on the simcard. snowman21
The only thing I hate about cell phones is that I don't have one and I wont be able to get one. When my soccer practice (yes, I play soccer, got a problem with it? ) is over, and my mom forgets to pick me up (which is multiple times by the way) I would love to have a cell phone so I can call her. There is a payphone but I never have money. I don't like bringing my own money to school. Maybe I'll give my mom a two-way radio (ahem walkie talkie!) so I can contact her. snowman21
Originally posted by BawBag™ Not at all. It is the superior sport. Oh thank god! Someone who likes soccer! At my school, almost everyone hates soccer except for the soccer players and the friends of the soccer players like soccer. It doesn't matter how popular I am. You usually have 100 football players trying out though. But anyway... I like ring tones on the cell phones. I would rather have them leave the ringtone on instead of hearing them yell over static. And people talking on cell phones while driving is a bad thing too. Unless you have a headset.
