Should I leave?

When I first joined Lucasforums, I loved playing JKII. I got better and better. Then I joined the multiplayer world. I loved it so much. I downloaded mods, skins, and maps. JKII became the only computer game I played. If only I had been more careful. One night, a red message popped up reading two words that made me feel terrible: VIRUS ALERT. My mom got extremely upset and spent the whole night trying to fix it. It took several days and the help of several computer experts to rid the virus. A day later, my mother told me at dinner that she was kicking me off the computer, because she thought the files I donwloaded for JKII had caused the virus.

It went down from there. I was left on the old '98 Compaq. It's video card couldn't support JKII, and I couldn't upgrade my video card because it was built into the motherboard. I was confined to playing Command And Conquer and Age of Empires. I watched helplessly as JA, KOTOR, SWG, and all those games were realeased, and I couldn't buy them. I felt more and more depressed. Lately, I've been seeing more and more threads about these awesome new games. Little by little, all the skill I had in JKII diminishees, the memory of it grows dimmer. the latest thread, titled "KOTOR", just made me snap. I can't bear this! My computer is a pure piece of ****! I'm missing out on all the fun. My mother offered to buy a new computer using her Christmas Bonus, but the chances are very slim. My Dad wants to pay off the credit card instead. and so, my hopes are failing. I'm probably never again going to play any of those games until I get my own job. And now, I'm thinking of leaving Lucasforums. I can't bear to see another thread about KOTORE, JKII, JA, or SWG. I just....don't feel at home here anymore.

j/k :p Cause then Z would destroy us all, GIR would unleash the monkey, and then all hell would break loose!

Stay. You know you wanna, you know you wanna...eat ice cream.Yunny Ice cream.Who where we talking about again?

:p

You couldn't leave. If you tried, it wouldn't work. Besides, Command and Conquer and AOE aren't such bad games. Besides, I think we may have the same computers, Compaqs suck! But as soon as I win the publishers clearing hose sweepstakes, I'l be sure to get you and me both The Alien $3,000 laptop with a 3MB Cable connection and Wi-Fi with KOTOR,JA,SWG,And Rebel Commando(by then it'l be out. Maybe even a sequel) :D

Yup, the really only reason that a virus could have got on there was an attachment(try looking for the e-mail) or d/l something off an *odd* site.

Look, man, there's no point in trying to find out what happened. I told you, I can't get my parents to reverse their decision.

Okay, this is what I've decided. I'm staying until my birthday, February 6. By then, if it turns out I'm not getting my new computer, I'm going to leave to cool off. I may come back by June. So for the time being, I'll be here till after Christmas. But I'm still gfetting angrier and angrier, and if I don't leave soon, I might take it out here, and boy, that won't be pretty.

My Point exactly.

And maybe once I get my net connection established in my room, we can play each other in C&C or AOE. Which ones do you have? I have Red alert 2, and AOEII, both with no expansions.

I'ld love to see ow good you are at either games ;)

I have all the versions of Red Alert, and Tiberian Sun for C&C. And I have all the versions of AoE with expansions and patches. But we can play Age of Kins versus eachother, or Red Alert. I'm not as good at REd Alert, though.

And guys, chill out. I'm not leaving. Read my post above.

I find leaving threads sophomoric, childish and moronic. Especially if the thread is "Should I Leave?" I mean, what the hell. When people start these threads, 99% percent of the time, it's to garner sympathy and attention. "Oh no, please don't leave, you're a valuable member to the community, yadda yadda." That's why people start it. You can give me some hoohah about it being a legitimate attempt to leave, but they always come back. Believe me. They always do, just to see people's opinions. Then they go, "Oh I'm not really going to leave."

In my 4+ years of doing this crap, I've seen it all and this is the same exact thing as it was all those other times. Crap, and a plea for attention.

Please, grow the hell up.
