Deac
I remember how excited I was about that game, and how I amassed a small cult of similar fans, awaiting it's coming. And then how somebody stole my thunder by creating his own thread and offering positions in his net army. And then the game finally came. The imperial campaign was good, but the rebel one was a disappointment. Once you'd gotten over the bizarre camera system, the fact remained that most of it was about seizing buildings, and the fact the your artillery/air units/anti-air was always rubbish, but theirs was suberb. It wasn't a terrible game, just not worth the hype caused by me and my cult... ah....those were the days....
swphreak
Yea, I thought it was a pretty good game. I don't see what people were complaining about, mine ran perfectly, and I had lots of fun with it.
Dark Sad Shadow
for me it runs smoothly i remember i was excited too when it came to us, the thinking about i can finally control an At-AT (as you can see i love those things ) it was excellent!!! I liked the camera, because you can control the action from wichever angle and you can be inside the battle
Nute Gunray
The only part of the game that didn't suck was the camera. You heard me.
Dark Sad Shadow
oh come on that wasnt a bad game the units were all well done and the dialogs accord to the events and the actions taken the battles were great anyone else is with me? Redwing
I dunno...I never managed to finish it, and now I don't know where the CDs are ^_~
Deac
It was too damned hard! Even with the strategy guide! I did like the story, and David Warner did make an excellent bad guy, but it pales beside Galactic Battlegrounds.
swphreak
I like the game because it is somewhat to scale. The ATATs are monsters compared to the people. That's also why I don't like GB/CC sometimes. Maybe if I reinstall it, we can battle DSS.
Rogue15
I loved and still love that game. the camera was perfect.... i liked being able to name the stormtroopers. XD
Dark Sad Shadow
ey 15, we should play a skirmish dont you think? maybe in teams? or versus? At-ats vs- Atats? i dont know why i love the ATAT, perhaps its because when i was a kid i never got one..

Not to mention they messed up the power of some of the units to 'balance' the game. The AT-ATs couldn't destroy anything at all without having to pound on it all the live long day and the speeders could trip AT-ATs too easily. IT HAPPENED EXACTLY ONCE IN ESB. Out of the six AT-ATs ever shown, one was destroyed by speeders tripping it. ONE. In Force Commander 95% of my AT-AT losses were tripping. AT-ATs were juggernauts in the movies and in the game they were sissy cardboard elephants. And out of all the units they invented for the game, only the AT-AA was any good. All the Rebel units sucked.
Dark Sad Shadow
well, the rebel units really sucked, but they were strong and they crashed my units sometimes... but nothing like an AT AT and At-ST

And it's somewhat better scale than Galactic Battlegrounds where the people are like, half the size of an AT-AT.
Dark Sad Shadow
its relative, but in my opinion the units were at good size compared with the true scale of the ships in this case AtAT
Deac
The fact was, it was too unbalanced. You had to pay more the best rebel units than you did for the Imperial units they were level with.
Dark Sad Shadow
that is correct... it was unbalanced but anyway great game:D
Rogue15
i loved the snow level w/a ton of at-ats and atpts and atsts storming the rebel bases....i used to have this really sweet picture of a task force i set up...
Nute Gunray
I will not be satisfied until I get a Star Wars: Total War game in perfect scale and teh units are accurately powerful. Five AT-ATs (and apparently one AT-ST) should be able to completely over-run a large rebel base, not get torn to ribbons by five T-47s they can't even shoot down. swphreak
Let's hope they make us proud when they release the new RTS they're working on... or at least we think they are...
Dark Sad Shadow
arent you forgetting that the AT ATs can be easily beatin by some snowspeeders? well in fact one speeder?
