I remember how excited I was about that game, and how I amassed a small cult of similar fans, awaiting it's coming. And then how somebody stole my thunder by creating his own thread and offering positions in his net army.

And then the game finally came. The imperial campaign was good, but the rebel one was a disappointment. Once you'd gotten over the bizarre camera system, the fact remained that most of it was about seizing buildings, and the fact the your artillery/air units/anti-air was always rubbish, but theirs was suberb.

It wasn't a terrible game, just not worth the hype caused by me and my cult...

ah....those were the days....

I like the game because it is somewhat to scale. The ATATs are monsters compared to the people.

The mechanized units were far too small compared to the people. The people were much too large compared to the AT-AT and the snowspeeders were too big.

Not to mention they messed up the power of some of the units to 'balance' the game. The AT-ATs couldn't destroy anything at all without having to pound on it all the live long day and the speeders could trip AT-ATs too easily. IT HAPPENED EXACTLY ONCE IN ESB. Out of the six AT-ATs ever shown, one was destroyed by speeders tripping it. ONE. In Force Commander 95% of my AT-AT losses were tripping. AT-ATs were juggernauts in the movies and in the game they were sissy cardboard elephants. And out of all the units they invented for the game, only the AT-AA was any good. All the Rebel units sucked.

I didn't say exactly, I said somewhat. And it's somewhat better scale than Galactic Battlegrounds where the people are like, half the size of an AT-AT.

I will not be satisfied until I get a Star Wars: Total War game in perfect scale and teh units are accurately powerful. Five AT-ATs (and apparently one AT-ST) should be able to completely over-run a large rebel base, not get torn to ribbons by five T-47s they can't even shoot down.
