IG-64
Originally posted by LordXaras The dreams where you know that you're dreaming and can manipulate the environment is called 'Lucid Dreams'. I've had two lucid dreams (in the same night) about the same thing. It was on our vacation in India, I was sleeping in my room. In the first dream, I'm sitting in from of my computer at the desk in my room. I realize that it is a dream, cause I'm in India (I have to force the brain to believe it though). So I look around and I'm chocked by the reality. Everything looks as in real life. Okay, let's try flying... As soon as I come a few feet from the seat of my chair, my brain starts to oppose itself to my commands ("FLY DAMMIT!" "Ummm... no, you're human, moron", and I wake up. The next dream is much quicker, it's the same scene and I'm immediately aware of the dreamscape, so I try to fly again and the same odd feeling makes me wake up. one thing that can help to 'activate' your mind when dreaming is to start with 'reality checks'. In dreams, letters and numbers... even pictures... often change. Start carrying a pice of paper, or a digital watch, around (irl). Regulary read what it says on the paper or the watch. The read it again. If it doesn't change, read it again, etc a few times. Okay, if it doesn't change, imagine what you would to in a dream, how it would look, who would be there... Then start to 'manipulate' this 'imaginary dream'. This is to make your brain get something that it's supposed to do in the dreams... frequently. If it doesn't do it, it breakes a strong habit (wich might activate your control) , if it does it, you will definitely become aware. About Deja Vu, it is possible for your mind to think that it remembers someting. You are saying that you never remember your dreams, then you shouldn't be able to tell that you're having a Deja Vu . Eh, wish I had that much thought in my dreams When I go to sleep and dream I usually just completely forget about reality and consiousness for the duriation of the night, then when I wake up I go "Oh yea, the world exists" Anyways, i'ma go to sleep and see if I can make anything happen, night. EDIT: Before I go to bed. I'm going to try my own little dream project, every night i'm going to try to dream that i'm spider man and am swinging through buildings on a thread. If I can do this, anyone can. I'll keep you guys updated, and this thread alive, good night
Mike Windu
no I mean that I have a dream, but it's like stored in my subconscious until something reactivates it... and if my mind thinks I have a deja vu how can I have a deja vu about something I've never seen before like a live television show... It doesn't have to ALL be something that you've seen before to create deja vu. All that has to happen is SOMETHING that sparks a bit of memory in you, and then your brain decides the rest of it is familiar too. It's like if you take 2 random groups of college kids. The first group you tell them that Alcohol increases sexual appetite. Odds are that pretty much everyone in there will say, "Yeah, I knew that" tell the second group the alcohol DECREASES sexual appetite. Odds are that most of them will say "Yeah, I knew that" Our minds "remember" things that we've never known all the time.

Your mind is convincing itself that it is remembering that scene... it might be b'cos you've dreamed it, it might be as our Swamp King pointed out and it might be nothing... simply a random error among your neurons. _PerfectAgent_
Woah. I've seen some things in my dreams and then later on (year perhaps?) I see it in real life and I remember, somewhat. Or maybe it's just that it's similar to something else I've seen before.

Astrotoy7
I had 2 fairly strange dreams last nite... I must warn you though that I have fairly strange dreams very often ! 1) I was fighting in world war 2. Me and a group of Xwings were attacking key German/nazi positions in France. I wasnt in an xwing though, I was flying in Dr Who's Tardis!! (UK ppl will know what this is...for those who dont, its a time machine that was disguised as a telephone box !) 2)Aragorn was at my local hairdressers. He was doing some maintenance work on one of the chairs, and I was having my hair cut in the chair beside. He told me in detail about 7 hours of deleted scenes from LOTR each movie, including one where Sam rescuses Frodo from Barbie(thats probably the only one I remember !) IG-64
I had a completely pointless out of nowere dream last night: I was in my friends front lawn with his new puppy and my friend kept kicking me and shoving me down, it was annoying, it kinda hurt too, ecspecially that last one in the chest. Modt likely the reason why I had this dream is because I have had chicken pox and now i'm almost all the way healed up, so yesterday I went to my friends house for the first time in like, a week, we practiced stick fighting and kicking for a few minutes and it porbably just got stuck in my head.
