Tactics & Teamplay

I haven't got any tatics in mind, but I know how I will build them up.

I'll start by playing and being a good little soldier. Its a matter of getting use to the gameplay and developing my aiming skills and also sticking close to other players to see if you can learn any tricks off them.

Its hard to find someone to make solid tactics with when your on public servers. I always liked ambushes. The forest map should be great for that, with all the bushes and shrubs to hide behind.

I suppose tactics rely on who is prepared to team up with others on a frequent basis. You cant really make battle tactics or plans effective when theres only you carrying them out.

When I play BF42 its easy to take cover in a building or behind something, wait for a vehicle or trooper to stray past, then ambush them with grenades. I hope to use that tactic in SWBF.

I guess I will have to wait for the game and actually playing the maps before making strategies.:wavey:

in games with classes i'm usually the one who supports the others, like the medic. I kinda lead a small team, i mostly prefer to take a sideroute and attack the attacking opponents in the back

Xbase --->X <----Y <--- ybase

...................................... ....|

me ------------------------------

the opponent then gets attacked from 2 directions

Tht's an illegal move: the game is called battlefront, not battlefronts :D

you can if your able to in the map your playing to hop into somw republic gunships with the support of xwings ties ect to make a quick surprise attack on the enemy base while a few of your ground troops make a distraction and lead the defenders away from there command post. (diversions tactic)

I love sneaking up on my enemies and pull out my knife and SLASH! I just cut their throat.

I just love guerilla tactics and sneaking around.

I don't mind powering through though, on some maps guerilla tactics will be pretty useless(Hoth, Geonosis).

Out of my 100000000 games of BF1942, I've only encountered a bunch of people who were ready to fight alongside each others with good tactics. There's this time when my team was kicking ass because we kept moving together in small squad(two assault, two medics, two anti-tank and a sniper). That was soooo fun. I hope I can find people like that on SWBF.

in maps like tatooine, hoth, geonosis. people will have to develop vehicle/support tactics. on hoth, the rebels will have the trenches, and maybe tunnels.(depending on if you can enter echo base) which would be good for ambushing. but a smart team w/ good squad tactics would definately kick ass!:D

Well, I thought the whole idea of the game was to focus on teamplay, and the necessary tactics to secure objectives. Good players will learn the strengths and weaknesses of every class, and work out how best to serve the team.

Using Enemy Territory as an example again...there are times when I've been shot and lying on the ground - and a medic has run past within a few feet to go and get himself shot. In other matches, I've manned a portable machine gun, and a medic has hung around in the vicinity to watch my back and administer aid because I'm more prone to attack. The latter case is obviously an exhibition of much better team work, and can pay dividends in the long run.

So I'd be disappointed to get onto a server and find most of my team-mates 'doing their own thing' without any regard for working as a unit and covering each other's backs. Lone wolves can sometimes make it through enemy lines and complete an objective, but in my experience a mixed group working together fares better. If only team-mates wouldn't run in front of you just as you open up with a powerful weapon, things would be even better...

In the recent dev report, they say that one of the main objective in the game will be to encourage team play. I guess that we will have more details on this later.

Also, the bonus points add alot to the strategic element. Suppose that your team is going to loose a main objective but that you can bring a special character like Luke. Things will change for sure.

I think i will take a small squad of snipers with me and position them around the enemy base then head back to my own base and get a few troopers then go back to the enemy base and cause diversion ill run away with my troopers and all my snipers will kill all the enemies that try to attack my diversionary group.

P.S This tactic is for Endor and i will be rebels.

Voice chat is almost essential to good teamplay and tactics. So if you're just join a game and play with people you don't know, it will be very hard to work as a team.

So de experience would probably best if two teams of friends will play together, all equiped with voice chat.

start making battlefront propaganda, you need 15 friends to buy it...

I can imagine on the larger all-out assault maps such as Geonosis where vehicles/artillery play a huge role a small team consisting of a buncha engineers focusing on the vehicle which is slowly moving upwards while medics hang back behind the engineers and heal them with a buncha soldiers providing escort....

...I'm a very non-tactical person and unfortunatly tend to fall into the "lone wolves" group where I run ahead and do "my own thing". Hopefully, all this to change with Battlefront.
