Crazy_dog no.3
Link That would be great! I think he'll do it right. He can do both interesting characters and kick-ass action But I doubt they will let him 'cause those greedy producers want to keep thier PG-13/12A ratings and knowing Tarantino he'll put in "objectionable content". Don't get me wrong though, I like the Bond films as they are so far, I just think QT will do it better.
ExcelsioN
If he does, he probably will put in 'objectionable content', which means I wouldn't be able to see it.
rccar328
I don't know...Personally, one of the reasons I liked Bond films (before Brosnan) was because of the lack of "objectionable content"...of course, I don't like them now because I think Pierce Brosnan ABSOLUTELY SUCKS as an actor, but that's just my opinion. What am I talking about??? I'm not gonna watch it if it's got Brosnan as Bond anyway, so I guess I may as well just shut up and get on with my life. I do have a question, though...the article said that Tarantino wants to remake Casino Royale...wasn't that a Bond spoof?
Hermie
Bond with lotsa lotsa blood? sweeet.

Yeah, but it was based on a James Bond novel, so if it's a spoof it's a Freddy-Jason-parody-yourself type spoof.

--ZeeMan--
Casino Royale is one of the unofficial bond flicks like Never Say Never Again...only true bond fans own both of those and consider them a part of the collection and QT doing a bond flick would be hella sweet! :-D
jebbers
yup Bond would kill some baddies and then smoke a bong after.....then do a line of coke and some intravenous drugs.....that would be interesting like watching Pulp Fiction...
Astrotoy7
As much as us younger(I use that term very loosely Mike) ppl would like to see QT bring some life back into Bond, I dont think it'll happen. Bond is a British institution, having some yank make it into a gory cussfest might not sit well with them...... nevertheless, I would *LOVE* to see it happen... mtfbwya
CapNColostomy
As much as I like Tarantino, I wouldn't sweat him making the Bond films vulgar or bloody simply because the Bond franchise is way bigger than he is. Don't believe me? Ask around. "you ever hear of tarantino?" it sounds familiar, what is it? "you ever hear of 007?" Hells yes. My point is, yeah it would be a good movie, but no way would he be given %100 creative control.
StormHammer
The novel of Casino Royale is vastly different from the spoof film that was made - it's actually a good story with a disturbing torture scene (Bond is on the receiving end - and it explains his hatred of SMERSH later on). I highly recommend all of the Bond novels to those who have not read them - they are more down to earth, but no less exciting. As for Tarantino making a Bond movie...I don't think that's a good idea, unless they put a leash on him. As for it being a 'British institution' that doesn't mean it has to be a British director in the chair. The director for Die Another Day was an Aussie, wasn't he? He did a good job too, because Die Another Day is one of my favourite Bond movies. The on-going torture of Bond during the opening credits was inspired. As for Pierce Brosnan, he definitely fits the roll, as far as I'm concerned. He gives the character that gritty edge that Sean Connery brought to the role in the first few films. I really can't think of an actor who will fit the role as well as Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, or Roger Moore.
Crazy_dog no.3
If they don't let him do an "official" film they should at leist let him do an unofficial Never Say Never Again -type of film.
