Are you kidding? I think its the best example of talent to be released from that band. Just cause theres no excessive screaming in the song doesnt mean you can write it off as a bad song.

You'd be surprised, actually. I know a guy whos been a LP fan since before they were big, and even HE doesn't like My December. Its just not fitting. Its like if KoRn did a rendition of My Heart Will Go On. I love KoRn, but I'd definently hafta beat JD to within an inch of his life for such blasphemy.

Mike..... have you listened to the new album? Steven doesn't even do his scream. And, Joe ****ing Perry is AWESOME!

Aerosmith can do the blues good. However, I just don't like blues.

BTW, ZeeMan, its ALL about the registration date. :p

EDIT - Am I the one who liked Aerosmith's late 80S-Early 90s music? Pump and Get A Grip would have to be my favorite albums, which were releasded in 89 and 93, respectivley.

And no, Joe Perry isn't the best Gutarist, but hes one of the better ones today.

No I haven't, and given that rock/pop music really isn't my thing I won't be likely to. I was just reacting to the blues comments.

Nor do I think that they would show respect to the blues by playing it like Mudddy Waters in the 50's. The whole thing about music like that is to re-interpret it, hopefully bring some appreciation of your roots to a wider audience. When I think of stuff like that I think of early Yardbirds.

the new AFI album and singles :(

I thought 'punk' was historically about springing up within the established tradition and being diffficult and uncomfortable.

In the mid-60's, it was The Who, with extreme volumes, noise and smashing instruments against the backdrop of the Beatles, Beach Boys, and general niceness of pop music.

In the late 70's, it was groups like the Sex Pistols, against groups like the Who and other arena rock dinosaurs.
