NHL predictions/discussion

coupes.

Recommended Posts

Hey, since ckc made a NBA thread, we HAD to have an NHL one.

Make bold predictions in here, which teams do you think are gonna make the next round, and in how many games. We can always go back and see if anyone was right, then he could brag about it  Also discuss about the player's performances and Frasier's bad calls.

There's only two rules : keep it hockey and keep it clean !

There aren't a lot of series still at play but here I go:

Montréal

Calgary

Toronto

Woah! I almost missed a hockey thread!

I think the senators are going to win their series, Boston in theirs, and Calgary over Vancouver.

As for next round, all I know is that if the Avs play as good as they did in game 5, Detroit or San Jose has cause to be worried. I dont know if we can be stopped when we play that good.

This playoffs is gonna be fun, my early prediction is Colorado Vs. Tampa Bay in the finals.

Boston didnMt deserve to win anyways, Montréal outplayed them all series long, exept for the first game. They got lucky with the 2 OT wins...

so... i'm going to watch the Calgary - Vancouver game now...

cheap crap like being hit from behind near the boards or getting slashed on the wrists...

Boston played a much more agressive and physical style, which sometimes went too far... IMO they got beat to their own game.

as for the Ribeiro 'incident' i don't really understand myself, but it didn't make any difference in the series anyways.

Eh, the way they embellished those made me mad. ESPECIALLY Ribeiro's, because I'm not even sure that stick HIT his hand, and if it did it hit the top of the glove and that doesn't hurt bad enough to stop playing and carry on the way he did. luckily he got what he deserved and cost his team that game. Though personally I wish it would have cost his team the series.

I think you refer to the slashing on Kovalev... I do agree that he shouldn't have stopped playing and that it did cost montreal the game. But he's been dominant, along with Koivu, all series long and Boston's big line was outplayed, and you don't go too far when you get that kind of performance from your best players.

Another big factor in the series was the goaltending, Raycroft was nearly invincible in the first 2 games while Théodore gave up a couple of bad goals (ie.:Bergeron's goal in OT), but then the wind changed, and Théodore played like there was no tomorrow (which was in fact the case... :p ).

The slash was on Kovalev? And not Ribeiro? ....whoops...

Oh well, anyways, that was a pretty lame-ass play.

I wanted Boston to win because I've always liked Boston, especially after the avs got Ray Bourque, the way the fans still stuck beside him and supported him....

Unlike Los Angeles and Rob Blake.

I hate the Kings and there "need" to boo Blake still. But I wish Boston had won because Montreal pulled some girlie moves with their injury faking.

Avs all the way though. The way they are played in game 5, nobody can beat them if they keep it up.

Well, Toronto won their game, thanks to a couple of garbage goals...

and for the record ET, Kovalev was shaking the Bruins' players hands with his LEFT hand, keeping his INJURED right hand in his glove. :p

so here are the round 2 series:

East:

Montréal vs. Tampa Bay

Toronto vs. Philadelphia

West:

San José vs. Colorado

Calgary vs. Detroit

here are my picks : Montréal(6), Philadelphia(5), Colorado(6), Detroit(6)
