fast and simple gameplay, but then again, I also like twists and neat weapons, and of course good weapons is a must - I was just playing Painkiller, and it has like half the things on the list.

The twists and puzles make a FPS for me, Deus Ex was brilliant, now to get that RAM I need so I can play the second one...

Ah, in that case "puzzles" for twists for me. I prefer to havta think to get through a level than just "what's the biggest weapon to cause the most destruction in the least amount of time", type thing...

Have a lot of cool, atmospheric levels. I loved MotS because of the levels and story, not flashy graphics or superior gameplay.

it has to interest me, running around shooting bad buys isn't enough. although that is the main reason i play them. but it can get really boring really quickly if there isn't a good storyline.

Well, special twists is important for me. But also level design, weapons, moddability etc. Grahics aren't high placed with me. I can still enjoy MotS and even DF. (if i had DF that is...)

I agree about the graphics, not that important. I still like half-life and Deus Ex even though they are getting old, hell I even play doom (but only with Jdoom, partly because doom95 does not support a USB mouse) and if you can get past the graphics Doom is still a good game.
