thanks, everyone :)

so now that it's the day after my birthday, let me tell you what i did...

i woke up at 5:30, but unfortunately couldn't get back to sleep, otherwise i would've slept in a little bit. so i just watched music videos for about 4 hours. went to egg harbor cafe for breakfast. went to navy pier (i live about 30-45 minutes from chicago). speedboat ride, ferris wheel, another speedboat ride, this time down the chicago river. didn't speed, but it was an "architectural tour". i liked it a lot. came back, and then sat around for a bit. i wanted to make dinner out of one of my new cookbooks, both rachael ray 30 minute meals cookbooks. i'm supposed to get the dvd's of her show as well, but they didn't come in the mail yet. so i cooked her "crusty topped baked beans"- baked beans w/a crunchy topping: bread crumbs, chopped up bacon, and scallions, and then baked. it was great. and i also made the "honey mustard barbecue chicken", which was thickly glazed chicken breasts/thighs, glazed in a very liquidy honey mustard/onion sauce, and then grilled. it was fantastic. and i never really cook at all. and when i pulled those beans out of the oven, i was so excited because it looked exactly like it did on her show, i saw the episode where she made it. by then it was already 9:00, and i had some cake, stayed up a bit longer, then went to bed.

it was a great day :)
