Just how big are the maps in Battlefront?

After playing BF: Vietnam and 1942 i have to question just how big the maps are in Battlefront. I would like to see huge open areas such as hoth, and not being blocked off too close like some of the desert levels in 1942 and the vietnam jungles, with maybe a few smaller areas like the cities in the battlefield games as well, maybe like tatooine. What are your thoughts?

There's going to be so many snipers in Battlefront I'm wondering if the objectives will be completed or not. It'll just be a bunch of snipers lying in the dirt looking for other snipers. Then when someone with some common sense chooses an attack class they'll just get sniped... over and over again.

Way to feel alone in a full server...

The moderation on this board needs review, a lot of flaming in multiple threads..... stay on topic please.

I for one know that snipers can just be taken out by other snipers as it's done all the time in battlefield. Unless you have a kick ass hiding spot, you will be taken out, no question. But i wonder if the levels will be big enough to accomodate multiple snipers, have good hiding spots, or have terrain which enables a good firng position.

Another thing i just thought of is that even though you are a sniper, the potential person getting sniped might see the direction of the laser and be able to figure out the position of the sniper if he isn't instantly killed. Whereas with battlefield, it's hard to pinpoint the position of snipers because you can't see bullets and the field is huge. Sniping may be a little more impractical with star wars.

I say the maps will be about as big as a level in a normal game. I hope they do the boundaries well instead of just making you not being able to go past an invisible wall. and I do say every1 in real life. every+1. 1 is pronounced one. I type it differently, but pronounce it the same. And it wasnt advice, it was wored as a command. Simply, 'dont write every1 ever again' was your exact words. Now let us end this and stay on subject. if you wish to communicate further, email me at yaebginn@hotmail.com

I think if the maps are rather large, and they are riddled with snipers, it will really make the game more exciting. You got to understand, that the snipers are there to plug you from long range, so don't hang out in open areas. That simple. Hide.. move fast, in well covered areas. Travel in teams..

In real wars, the enemy is aware that there is a posibility of snipers and they act accordingly. If you can't act accordingly, then you.. well, you better learn.

I love sniping, as much as I love being sniped at, hiding, and getting one up on the sniper. Spot a sniper, under fire from one?! Inform your team mates, and ACT ACCORDINGLY!

I imagine they would be done in a similar fashion to boundries in the Battlefield series with zones. If you leave the zone you have ten seconds to come back or you're labeled a traitor and lose health until you either die or return to the battle.

On Hoth you see all kinds of snowy mountains, and I suspect you won't be able to climb them so that would be the background.

I think big maps don't matter if you got a lot of vehicles. Flying a in a tiny map is rubish because you fly across the borders all the time (I guess that's why tFighterPilot doesn't like the traitor-idea ;) )
