I've tested every driver since 3.8 and none of them have resolved the gamma reset issue. I even tried Omega drivers and that didn't help. I'm definitely getting a nVidia card at the end of the month...the questions is which one. I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and go with the 6800 GT (Ultra is too pricey).

Hmmm...I use an Athlon64 CPU - works perfectly on all my applications/software with np...my system:

Silver Thermaltake Aluminum Damier V600A Case w/OCZ PowerStream 520W P/S

ASUS A8V Deluxe M/B

AMD Athlon64 3400+ CPU

1 set Kingston KHX3200 K2/2G (2x1GB) HyperX DDR400 DIMMs

Gigabyte nVIDIA GeForce FX5950 Ultra - 256MBG DDR

SoundBlaster Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro S/C w/Klipsch ProMedia Ultra Speakers

Pioneer DVD-120s slot load DVD/CD ROM Drive

Lite-On SOHW-1213S 12X DVD(+-)RW/48X(+-)CDRW Combo Drive

HD1 - WD Caviar SE 120GB Serial Sata Drive

HD-2 WD Caviar SE 250GB Serial Sata Drive

Princeton SENERGY 981 19" LCD Monitor

Never had a problem running any of the new games - though a lot of my older games are giving me problems (even w/DOS Box installed).

And yes - before anyone asks - I built my system some little time ago (I definitely prefer building my own system as opposed to buying a system that is already pre-configured).

If you know how to do it, it's the only way to fly.

I completely agree with you. I have built my system and half a dozen other PC's for friends and family. My first PC was prebuilt, After about a year I found it just was not meeting my needs and I was having one problem after another I swore I would never buy a name brand PC again.

With building my own PC I know exactly what each component of my pc is. Even if you can't afford the best of the best you can at least buy the best part in your price range.

Also It's just fun Building PC's :)

Indeed, my friend...ummm - do you also pay for the components?? Somehow - perhaps family taking advantage of my generous disposition - I always end up building customized PC's for family...and giving my old, personal PC's to the school system *chuckles* Oh well - it's all for a good cause, and I do enjoy building a new system every couple of years or so:-)

128 MB DDR NVidia GeTorce FX 5200

You may think the video card stucks, but me loves it!

Nah, I am lower than you. I still have a Pentium 3. It runs KOTOR great though. I just can't justify getting a new one until this computer won't do something I need it to.

I have the Toshiba Satellite laptop (Model P20-GPV). It has a 17" widescreen (1440 X 900 pixels) LCD display, a Pentium 4 HT processor with a speed of 3.2GHz, 512MB of RAM (can be increased to 2GB which I'm going to do in the future), 80GB hard drive (can be upgraded to 160GB by adding second 80GB hard drive), DVD-RW drive and GeForce FX Go 5200 64MB video card. Does anyone else use a laptop to play KotOR with?

A friend of mine played KotOR on her laptop. While it was kinda cool in many ways, I didn't like the game looked (widescreen) on her machine. Guess that means I shouldn't buy one, huh? :D

Pentium 4 3.2Ghz

1024MB DDR Corsair XMS

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (A favorite here, I see.)

120GB SATA Drive

60GB Backup Drive

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 (These get loud at an 1/8 of a turn on the volume nob)

Viewsonic P95f+ 19"

Whenever I get to make a new system from scratch (which I don't have), It'll look a lot like Darth333's. I can't wait to get some WD Raptor drives and have a nice 10,000 RPM RAID Array.
