itchythesamurai
Why would they sell Maniac Mansion again? Isn't it advertised as being included in Day of the Tentacle?
Udvarnoky
It is, but the version included within DOTT is the original PC port, which sported graphics similar to the original C64/Apple versions. In other words, they suck. An "Enhanced" version of Maniac Mansion was made with updated graphics, but LucasArts effectively discontinued that version when they stopped selling the Classic Adventures pack. masterdebator
The best versions I have found are the FM-Towns versions. In almost every game that was an FM-Towns game, the graphics are in 256 color, and well worth the years spent tracking them down.
Udvarnoky
Damn, now they've discontinued the Adventure Collection (not to mention Outlaws and, very weirdly, Armed and Dangerous), leaving CMI, EMI, and Grim as the only adventures available from them. Ouch. If Lucasarts' rights to Sam & Max expire in May, could that be a reason for getting rid of the adventure collection?
Jake
I think the "rights" they have currently are a license to use the characters to make a new game. I don't think it alters their ability to keep selling an old one.
Udvarnoky
Grim Fandango has left the building. Are CMI and EMI's days numbered?
90SK
Grim before Curse? Wow. I guess nothing is safe anymore. * LucasArts*
