Whoopknacker Posted August 5, 2004 Share Posted August 5, 2004 Since Hoth is going to be the map that many players will run to first I thought it would be a good idea to get ideas of what you think would make the map great (not that it wont be) Just ideas. I think that there should be an objective mode for Hoth. Meaning that the Imps have to destroy the shield generator before a timer runs out. The rebels just have to hold them off til all transports are away. There should also be an NPC of Wampas that grab players if they get too close to their cave. What suggestions do you have? Pak Rendo Posted August 5, 2004 Share Posted August 5, 2004 I like the idea for the timer regarding the shield generator.As long as there is ample time to get a good battle or two in before the timer runs out. As for the Wampas, yeah I would like to see them come out of a cave or something similar.That said, a well-placed blaster bolt between the eyes should drop a Wampa though should the player see him coming in time. In the screenshots I seen the Dish arrays the rebs used, but I have not seen any trenches yet.I hope they put those trenches in! Without them the Rebels would be like those ducks at the fair and just get picked off by the ATATs. The trenches will hopefully be the right height to fire from without too much exposure. reelguy227 Posted August 5, 2004 Share Posted August 5, 2004 i think that any vehicle ,especially the at ats on hoth should be droppped off by star destroyers and not just appear there when yu start the game .it would be kind of dumb to start and then theres just an at at sitting there in the middle of the battlefield ready for yu to crawl into ,thats not how it was in the movies.there were star destroyers in the movie of tatooine ,at gamespot .who agrees with me on this issue?maybe the devs will read this thread. That would look really cool--a bright moonlight reflecting off the planet surface, a sky popping with bright stars, and TIEs lurking in the darkness. I don't know if the game allows for snow storms, but maybe you can set it so that fog comes and goes at certain intervals. Oh yeah and this game needs trenches, lots and lots of trenches. I don't think the Imps sticking out a little bit at night would be that big of a deal.Heck, they already have AT-ATs in the map, I don't see why the rebels can't have a bone thrown their way every now and then. Theyd asks for a flare in midst of the pitch black jungle as soon as it lit up they found that the viet cong were only a hair away waiting.......a hailfire of bullets wizzed out in every direction while the flare lit up the field. until the next flare went up. Another thing that might be neat is if there would be patches of ice players and vehicles would slide around on if they wandered onto them. I look outwindow, hey it loooks nice, go outside, theres ice everywhere. btw this was b4 I moved. I once took a piece of ice that looked like snow, and punched it. it wasnt thin either, cut my hand up like a tard, too. But it looks bright and happy in th emovies, too. during the battle. Yeah the game shows a bright and sunny day. In the movie they goofed and had a mix of sun and overcast. Sun one second then Overcast the next. Watch the battle again and you will know what I mean. The Imps have only one checkpoint aznd their ticker stroke is lowering. They need to capture all checkpoints before to stop it, and they have to do that before their ticker strokes reaches zero (the rebels escape).
