The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Pie™

Recommended Posts

Well, today they launched this site... :D

We are pleased to announce that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is currently in development for PC and future generation consoles. In development since 2002, Oblivion is another leap forward in role-playing with its combination of freeform gameplay and cutting-edge graphics.

Apparently the American magazine GameInformer is gonna have an exclusive on this highly anticipated game

Since the magazine is only coming out overseas, I hope a swampie with a big heart and a fat wallet can get it and scan it for us non-americans :D

Oh, I almost forgot; W00T! :D

Oh c'mon. Cat people and lizard people are not exactly original ideas. They've been around forever. :p

Also, the Elder Scrolls 'verse is older (Arena released 1994) than Everquest (began development 1996, released at least a year after that, not sure though) Who's ripping off of who?

Finally, those screens are from the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, not "Morrowind IV". :D

(And Elder Scrolls games are RPGs, not super expensive monthly-fee MMORPGs...I wonder which I'll be getting ;))

True, but you've gotta admit; those models look suspiciously like eachother :p

Anyways, they're only models, since they're 2 completely different games, why should it matter? :p

I really don't think either game copied each other. I mean, c'mon. Lizard/cat head on a humanoid body...you could think that up on your own much easier than bothering to copy it. ;)

Anyway Morrowind had those races in previous games (Arena, I think, and definitely Daggerfall (1996), which, as I said, are older than Everquest. :D) So if anything Everquest was copying them. So there! ;)

Btw, anyone been following the countdown splash pages?

Interesting, I must say :D

Maybe Morrowind first game was released before, but for example, the models of the khajiit and the argonian has become more like Everquest ones from III to IV. And it dont matter, but the devs of the models could have been more originals, like when they did Morrowind III

There is only one Morrowind. It is so named because it takes place in Morrowind, home of the Dark Elves or Dunmer. ^_^

There is:

Elder Scrolls I: Arena

Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall

[battlespire, Redguard]

Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

And now-

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

For which we have exactly one screenshot. ;)

Really, if you've played Morrowind, Kajhit look very different from those Vah Shir [that model is the only one with those black teeth things), and Argonians generally look different as well (more like anoles than iguanas, and they're often horned and frilled)...and more importantly their histories and details are very different (and more interesting IMHO) :)

Yep i know, i played everquest for a year and as white vah shir ;) (that tiger is the model of the guards of vah shir city), and in morrowind III the models are completely differents, what i mean is that they just instead of inventing a new kind of humanoid tigers and lizards for IV they just made them like everquest ones (just that!! thats the only thing i dont like lol!), they could have been more originals!!! but it rulez anyway..and what means IMHO?
