Kick and ban thats all you need. Agreed. I never saw the slay and silence onces implemented...i'd wager they weren't very popular. Mex
*Laughs at PS2 Owners* Poor guys. I'm a bit worried about the lag though. I just hope that they bring out a patch so it'll run a bit smoother.
=HR=Meltdown
You guys are complaining about the admin mod for JA?! And the kill and silence functions of it (both of which BF42 and BFV have built into them) especially? That is nothing compared to the CS admin mod where the admins can reprogram your entire keyboard from their console (i.e. some admins, when met with troublemakers, reprogram the fire button to toss away the gun rather than fire, and reverse the movement controls), and 90% of CS servers run that mod. And don't take the reply the wrong way, it's just that MOST online FPSes these days have those as built in commands, just most server admins don't know the console commands for them. ouchy
Honestly, comparing this game to SOCOM II is a joke. Sony poured every single resource they could into SOCOM II. This game wont get near that amount of attention on the PS2. Hiya dave - good post still wonder what version it was for though? Hope its got better net code then Clone Wars or Jedi Academy or as Han Solo once said, "this could be a very short trip".

Jerol Seren
I can't figure out what the appeal is for people to buy this kind of game on a console. I prefer to get the most out of my money and get the PC version. I mean, you get better graphics (consoles use low res textures and low polygon models...pc's use high quality everything), more players, more weapons, maps, classes and vehicles made by fans (for free), plus the mouse is just wayyyy more accurate than a clumsy controler (especially when it comes to sniping. I dont' know...I just don't see the reason to buy a console game of this type. Not that I hate consoles, they have great anime rpg's and great action games...not to mention GTA: San andres..which I'm buying the first day *drool*
Axe2Grind
Clumsy Controller ??? Hehheh,.. a controller has a way better response time in the hands of an experienced console owner. the mouse is a heck of alot more clumsy than a controller;) Mouse - constant pick up put down + press buttons. Controller - Just press the buttons Man,..I wish they was such a thing as Pc Vs Xbox ! Then you would be getting yer butt kicked like a bad habit...LOL Consoles are better because you can kick back and get comfortable on the couch vs sitting errect in a chair 15 inches from your computer screen typing many keys on your keyboard and constantly picking up and putting down the mouse..LOL

You can't tell me a controller stick is more accuate than a tool that was MADE to make accuate motions. The buttons thing is over-exagerated. 90% of your gaming takes place on the mouse. The keyboard is only there to make you go forward back or strafe at will. I've seen people play Unreal with a controller...you can't pull off even close to the fancy moves you can pull off with a mouse while still staying perfectly accurate.(like jumping and spinning around and getting a head shot jsut as you hit the ground) No way that can be done on a controller. It CAN, but you are gonna lose a hefty amount of accuracy trying to get your aim rectacle in the precise small area of the head... I can say this with confidence. I've known some who had adapters for their PC's that allow them to plug in PS2 controllers.
Vader523
I love the PS2 controller. More than I even like mouse and keyboard lol. I have everything right there and I dont have to look for buttons. If I take my left hand off the keyboard its hard to reposition them onto the same keys without looking down. Its just too much going on at once. I just think the mouse is a little too jerky. Im good with a mouse, but much better with a PS2 controller (2 years of SOCOM). Did they say if this game will have cross-platform for online? PC gamers playing with PS2 gamers? Thing is..I remember my Jedi Outcast days with the PS2 controller mod (allowed you to use controllers instead of mouse) you could always tell who used controllers..they were the ones who didn't look up and down as much as the mouser players. Never did the fancy moves in combat.

Vader523
PS2 issues can be fixed. Patches are used for PS2. SOCOM 2 had had two patches so far to improve on some aspects and remove glitches. And the hardrive update for SOCOM 2 is supposed to give you the ability to play in different "universes". This means the old universe is the stor-baught SOCOM 2, but the other is for HD users. It allows you to play new maps, and mods of the old ones. Best part is all the updates are free I have heard Battlefront will do the same.

If a controller was so much better than a mouse, then how come every competitve player in the world who plays for money, uses mous and kb? You can't turn around as fast with a controller as you can with a mouse or be as precise quickly as you can with a mouse. I have nothing against controllers, but for FPS, give me a mouse/kb. Virtually anything else, I prefer the controller.
Vader523
For FPSs with just guns and shooting, I would go with mouse and keyboard. Any game with vehicles involved its controller all the way for me. I cant control vehicles well with mouse and keyboard.
