PR-0927 Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Yeah, I just got Gmail, and I wanted to know when you get invites, or how you get them. I was hoping on inviting many people, and getting two Gmail accounts...so I get double the invites!!

Joetheeskimo Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Someone who has it (like me or everyone else at LF ) has to invite you. Then you get an e-mail that gives you a link to an encrypted sign-up page. That way, it's not that easy to get an account like with Yahoo or Hotmail. It doesn't make any difference though, because just about everyone has one nowadays

It's because gmail is in beta and they just add more and more people by invites rather than letting everyone join immediately and face the hardware consequences (spymac)
