Sid Meier's Alpha Centari got a 98% from PCGamer (US, not UK)several years ago, though IMO it didn't deserve that much.

 

I think I may need flood insurance because I'm drooling too much after reading the review.

Edit: Took the guy 17 hours to get through, just concentrating on finishing, no exploring. Then there is Counter Strike, mods, mod making (something I will be doing) and countless other crazy ****.

Yep, I agree.. It's for the fan boys to point, hey, they gave Half Life 2 a 98%, so anyone that disagrees is a smack tard!

 

So yes, until I have the game in my posessions in the form of CDs/DVDs, I don't care about what reviewers say. I don't usually bother reading it anyways, I listen to the general public too aswell as demos.

Totally agree, I only look at reviews to see if I would even like it a bit. (just so I don't waste my money)

Reviews are not everything you know, it's debated by one person alone, which in turn isn't important to me. I want a small piece of that pie more than anything instead of a review by one person.
