And because Thrik didn't actually say it, if you want to submit them, just send them into an Admin (i.e, Thrik) and they'll do the rest if they think it should be added.

And just as a guess, but have you already made one and does it have a sombrero?

<forrest>I... may be dead... but I know what humor is.</forrest>

The Office is the smirk, Coupling is the LOL ROTF.

Coupling:

"I've got the key to the gates of paradise but I have too many legs!"

-- Jeff

"Sex can be very stressful for men. You judge us on technique, sensitivity, stamina... we're just happy if you're naked... half naked... one breast."

-- Jeff

The Office:

Gareth: "In this room I have special..."

Tim: "...needs?"

Gareth: "No, in this room I am a special..."

Tim: "...needs child?"

Gareth: "No, and that's not even funny."

Rowan: "Gareth, quick trust exercise, ultimate fantasy?"

Gareth: "Hmm?"

David: "We're just doing the ultimate fantasy, we're all doing it."

Gareth: "Two lesbians probably, sisters. I'm just watching."

Rowan: "OK. Erm. Tim? Do you have one?"

Tim: "I'd never thought I'd say this, but can I hear more from Gareth please?"

Bull**** and fuck! You chose the best quotes from Coupling and the worst quotes from The Office. And the Office was still better!

The problem is that 75% of the comedy from The Office comes from seeing and listening to it, so no quote is going to really show how funny it is, especially as it's not in the context. This is a pretty safe one, though:

"There are things that I will never laugh at. The handicapped - because there’s nothing funny about them. Or any deformity. …At least the little handicapped fella is able minded… or sometimes not - it’s difficult to tell with the wheelchair ones. So... just give generously to them all."
It's not just the humour that makes The Office great though; people actually care about the characters and the observations made through the documentary style are spot on for anyone who's ever worked in a real Office. What's coupling got? A big pair of tits.

> the documentary style

I knew that would come up. And I partly agree. From the cinematic point of view, The Office is certainly more innovative and deep.

> anyone who's ever worked in a real Office

I work in a real office and I can relate to most of the situations. I had a boss that was a tiny little (and I guess that's how close any person can come to Ricky's portrait of that mental boss) like David Brent. I have a wheelchair-bound co-worker, so I know how some people will get all nervous, want to behave normal and are bound to say stupid things.

"OK now guys, we're about to enter a warehouse environment now. I'll just warn you that some of the people in here will be working class. So there may be some arse cleavage. Just find a partner, hold hands and don't talk to anyone."

-- Tim

If the situations that are shown in The Office happen like that in real offices all the time, why re-watch it on TV the telly? That's not what I search for in entertainment. That's why I can't stand soaps.

Now add to that, that the second series had some moments where you were literally groaning because the stuff that was said was so oafish (jokes about the black guy and the handicapped woman).

In series 1 Brent was an idiot, in series 2 he was a downright asshole.

You never could. If you mean that you can point out an avatar file: that gets uploaded. Wouldn't work any other way (unless you had a web server running).

Um, how about sig images? Can you post them from your PC? :(

editnever mind, I uploaded my sig to myphotoupload.com! How do you get it to show the image instead of a link??!!!!
