Mono_Giganto
Well first off, that's not the actual texture, that's just the little kid within me having fun coloring his GMAX blocks. Second, considering the entire texture will be gold and black, it would be rather easy to make your own night blue by altering the tint, if you'd like to try it yourself once the models out, have it at otherwise remind me. Mono_Giganto
Update... Okay, so what my reference pic didn't show was a blaster pack on the other side, so I added that. I also removed the trigger guard thing, no real point it just made clipping issues. So here is what I have now: From the right. From the left. I PMed svosh to hold off on the UV, if people like this better, I'll see if he'll map this. It now effectively mirrors the movie blaster, with the pack and that white thing, I mirrored it because I though it looked stupid in the right hand the way it is normally, it looked backwards. Darkkender
Well the reason I asked is because of my horrible abilities with any type of painting or coloration through computer generated sources. I barely have an artistic eye when I have a real paintbrush in hand and painting a miniture. Hence I haven't touched playing with skins really at all. But don't worry I'll beg and plead with you when you finish the project.

EnderWiggin
Darkkender - Need a tut for retexturing? Look for Prtylizardjedi's Site in List Of Downloads: Tools and Mods. He's got some good ones. Hope this helps! And to Mono ---- YES! Now i need to wait until Svosh is done UV Mapping....... _EW_
Darkkender
I could read tutorial untill the cows come home. It wouldn't matter I am computer graphically impaired. Oh and truth be told if there is a tutorial I have either downloaded it or cut and pasted them together. They are all vague, full of general ideas, and never answer the questions that you have. sorry guys.

Mono_Giganto
Ok, sorry about not having many updates lately, but: Sent the pistol to svosh for UV mapping, the model is DONE. Here's something else I've made: I hope you can recognize this. Poly Count: 800 ON THE DOT. Svosh you should be proud of me that's only two meshes right there, all box modeling. Update: E-11 Blaster Rifle And the Poly Count:

That's the only movie hilt I'll attempt probably, I'd prefer my own designs. Achilles can't compete with what's only in my head.

That's actually what inspired me, considering that was the only thing about Prime's mod that I thought was missing. That and I've wanted an E-11 for some time anyway. T7nowhere
You can make it as one object by useing extrude and bevel. You can start with an 8 sided ngon and exclusively use extrude and bevel by converting the ngon to ed poly or ed mesh to get the exact same shape as your dozen piece model Here is a sample of what can be made with a 10 sided Ngon I realized after I probably could have gotten away with 8 sides which would have kept the poly count down a bit. try it out you will quikly find out how powerfull this simple method can be. This tip courtesy of svösh

Weird_Al
As far as the saber is concerned a simple reskin could make it Luke's so I'm just wondering how do you make the saber blade green?

You do remember before that it was his fathers blue one right. but mono's right all it takes is using the green blade .tga file but don't forget the .txi otherwise you get something like this. Mono_Giganto
How convenient this thread has been revived! I have updates ! Update 1: As many of you know, I have released the DH-17 blaster pistol to pcgamemods, I don't have a link handy but you should be able to find it. Update 2: I've got this cool little headset thing done, it's UV mapped (by me ) and everything, the skin kind of sucks, so I'm thinking about releasing the flat UV map with the mod, so anyone who wants to try can skin it better than myself. Update 3: See for yourself. I've completely redone the E-11 model I've had sitting around, I personally like this one better, not only does it look better IMO, it's 14 less polys. Here's the funniest part, I didn't use a picture this time, I went off of a 1.5 inch plastic toy that came with a Star Wars action figure. Found it in my closet with the Christmas stuff yesterday. Now that I understand UV mapping, I'll actually be able to cover ground with this model, however it will still take me a while, so don't expect it tomorrow or anything. And with that, I'm crawling back under my rock.
