As a HUGE devoted fan of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series, and after seeing the trailer for the Return of the Sith video game, I can only say one thing:

This title BETTER be eventually made for the PC.

Does anyone have any reliable information that they can share on this point?

My fingers will be crossed very, VERY tightly for positive remarks regarding my query.

Yours,

Kyle

TPM was fine, but had a lot of potential.

Anyways, I don't think they'll do it since PC games generally take longer production time than consoles and now would be the right time to put EP3 in production so that the game would release around the movie's release. Starting a PC Port midway would mean that the game would finish and release about month or two after the movie and despite what community says, producers don't like to do that. :tsk:

It looks like a cool game, but I'm confused a little about it.

Is it going to be one of those games that is super third-person and you can't keep a steady view on your character (like, your camera is stationary, but your guys is still turning and you see his front and back and sides ect), or will it be more of a real first person shooter with a third-person view that stick with your character?

Well, from the Trailer on the lucasarts website, its hard to say, though the footage looked awesome, especially the characater faces.

But as far as the porting over to the PC, it is highly unlikely because usually if they were going to do a game for the PC, it would be among the first announced along with which consoles it would becoming out for.

I like how Kyle said it'd BETTER be for PC. It'd BETTER, or what? You'll go out and rent a system to play it? Big set back.

I meant better than Final Fantasy's and Resident Evil's conversions. Just some changes in the controls so they don't look like the console one...

i wonder why its not coming out for gamecube. it looks like lucasarts is compeltely boycotting the GC.

now, i coulkd ive with that, if only there was a PC version. but alas.

this means i wnt ever be able top play this game. cause i'm certainly not buying a PS2 or XBOX for this game.

Actually, the major space sims such as Rogue Squadron and the alike have been exclusively for the Nintendo Gamecube. They have probably just determined that it would better suit the market by having it on the X-Box and the PS2, which have controllers that are probably better designed for the handling that they are implementing into the game.

Boycotting, then how can you explain this list??

Posted on LucasArts Game page

Star Wars Bounty Hunter

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader

Gladius

Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike

yes, but that havent made any GC games since those.

the newest game on that list is still a year old. games since then. battlefront, republic commando, and any EP3 games, have not been for the GC. i dont believe they would make games be on consoles other than GC only to balance for rogue leader and rebel strike.

i recall reading somewhere that some LA guy(sorry for the lack of details :p)said that they are indeed no longer developing for gamecube, but didnt give a reason.

Well, one thing that a few companies have come to realize that others havent yet is that the GC has some serious technical issues. The biggest one is that it takes less time to burn out a GC (regardless of use) than it does a PS2 or X-Box.

When I say burn out, I mean it gets to where it starts giving me the disc read error and I am unable to play any games. Now granted the PS2 has this problem eventually, but I've had a total of 3 GCs because of it over the course of 2 years. In the past 4 years, I've only had to have my PS2 repaired once, but the tech said it was due more to heavy use than anything, which is true because I play my PS2 all the time.

Plus I believe I heard that Nintendo was planning a replacement system I believe called ICON that would be more powerful than the X-Box and have an ATI video card I believe, along with an IBM processor.
