Darth_ToMeR
Here is my first model, a sword. I'm not going to release it becasue i think it's not special enough and it doesn't have texture. So here it is- http://members.lycos.co.uk/tomer06/swordmodel.jpg please add comments so i'll know what to improve next time. And thanks for svosh for helping me. T7nowhere
Great start ToMeR, you should still texture it. Even if its to learn how. Mapping a model can be difficult the first time and the only way to get really good is to keep practicing.
Darth_ToMeR
Thanks for the replies. I will texture it, but first i want to improve my modelling skills. Then i will practice on mapping.
EnderWiggin
You definately should texture it, or at least release it for others too. _EW_
Mono_Giganto
Looks good, kind of a rapier-esque touch to it, I like it! Something I learned working on models for KOTOR was that they should be simple, because not only does it make box modelling a heck of a lot easier, but KOTOR can't handle 50,000 polys. I did that with a lot of vertex editing, because i am not so good at box modelling and i think it easier (to make a sword) that way. But for guns, should i use box editing? Colma Adawin
dude if you make the hilt ( T ) the T bit, a semi-circle, you could have your Ancient Pirate Weaponry :D:D:D Hint: that was a mod idea for ya gr8 sword bud, love to see what ALL you modelers can do in da future MattCole:cool:

Darkkender
Originally posted by Mono_Giganto Looks good, kind of a rapier-esque touch to it, I like it! I dunno I would say it is more like a flamberge or claymore just a we bit narrow and light weight. But I would have to say get a texture on it and release it as a mod. Otherwise it's like going to a strip club you can look but don't touch, kinda depressing.
RedHawke
Very nice sword model ToMeR, I agree with Mono it definately has a Rapier look going for it, considering all the bigger beefier swords in KOTOR... a lighter and quicker one is something we definately need. "Sword-Pack" That sounds like a great idea if I do say so myself. BTW it looks great even without being textured.

My sword knowledge isn't the vest but aren't flamberges and claymores really big? Oh, and I can't tell from the pictures, because they're both from the side, but is the blade :round" (like a cone) or does it have an edge to it? From the side it looks like it could be either. I'ts something like that <> . I made another Sword. I followed Mattcole hint and made the thing between the blade and hilt a circle. I have problems with, so when i'll get it to work i'll post a pic. When I saw the images with the guy holding it with both hands and the blade looked to be nearly 2/3rd's of his height size from both directions. The instant vision I got was of a claymore with a rapier like thin rounded blade. (we psycho fantasy buffs are a we bit weird sometimes.)
