The One Year Thread Redux

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, been busy since i got back form NYC in march, with school and work and all. Summary is as follows:

1) '93 Ford Tempo down, in with '05 Chevy CObolt. Looking semi-rich FTW. She's my baby. I <3 her.

2) Promotion comming at work maybe. more money to pay the car off. ^^

3) Almost graduated from MCC. one more class.

4) Turned 21. No noticable difference other than the fact i can get razy drunk when funds/drivers permit.

And no, i will not leave for 5-6 months and you'll never hear from me again. ^^

I'm here to stay. And you thought you were all rid of me. ^^

Dennis Miller would be proud.

I think they put something in our food in western PA.

I have ten hours to come up with two discussion questions for my anthropology class based on the reading I did today. Yargh I got nothing.

Yargh what is all this crap

Where do all the cool kids hang on these days? Remember when I had the most posts? I'm like a small po-ta-to now.

Even though I have no idea what the reading was, I suggest:

1. How are babies made?

2. Could God microwave a burrito so hot that he himself could not eat it?

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

:joy:

Went to bed nice and early last night, say 10:00. by 10:05 I was sound asleep. By 11:30 I was wide awake again. A huge thunder cell rumbled it's way through last night, keeping me awake until at least 1:30am. No rest for the wicked, I guess. I had to get up and pull all my sensitive and expensive electronics off the grid or I never would have gotten back to sleep at all.

At least I finally did get back to sleep last night. Some weird dreams too, but now they are faded beyond memory.

So i w s outside smoking during a brake in my statistics class, and before you say anything, i know, quit smoking. ANYWAY, this fairly decent looking girl comes up and asks to barrow my lighter, and i'm like.... whatever.

And she just starts randomly talking to me. not that i mind, but it kinda wierded me out. Not used to having pretty women talk to me.

Will investigate the matter furthur, though i think it was because her usual conversation dude person thing wasn't there.

Women confuse me.

Hot girls talk to me all the time and I'm not weirded out. Also I only smoke cigars from time to time and I'll run around holding it in my back teeth and saying I LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER!

That's weird - I run around drinking milk and telling kids to stay in school and don't do drugs. I also hate it when suckas and foos mess with my van.

So i officially sold my soul to the devil yesterday.

Yes, I bought an ipod. *shame shame* My wife originally bought me a Creative Zen Touch, which is what I thought I wanted. It was the 40 gig model and I loved the sound quality, but the damn thing crapped out on me after 3 days. After verifying with tech support that it was, in fact, dead, I decided that Creative was no longer worthy of my undying support of their mp3 players as alternates to ipods and traded it in for a 20 gigger ipod.

I hate myself for doing it, but at the same time I can't help but like the damn thing.

the mgrs at ph are awesome. i won't have to work saturdays, pay is weekly and they don't hold a week back. so i'll not have to worry too much about running out of gas. :) now...just gotta get my compy and broadband set up. parents are bringing up the rest of the stuff this weekend. I can't wait. orientation's been going good. they took me to tioga yesterday and showed me all the stuff, not much has changed...all the dough is gonna be frozen though, which is very cool. no more big new yorkers, full houses, p'zones, or 4foralls. XD the toppings and i think the sauce even is gonna be made fresh. *shrug* heh and this other pizza hut i worked at, their orders came out on a freakin receipt. so weird!! at least we're getting the consoles. ^_^

Actually, XP itself gives me no problems. I don't run it in any compatibility mode or anything. The problem was actually with my video card. My GeForce 6800 Ultra had some problems with graphics and text. A different driver fixed the graphical problems, and all the new nVIDIA cards seem to have problems with the text. This is a well known problem, though, so I just replaced the FONTS file with the one for high resolutions that's out there. That did it for me.

when i run it normally, it pauses every so often especially with a lot of stuff going on. I have a geforce 4 with 128 megs and my cpu is plenty fast and plenty of RAM. I tried the compatibility mode and it actually made it worse, so i think i'll stop that. no text problems for me.

unlikely. i usually close everything before i play a game, and I keep my background applications (tray stuff) to a bare minimum as much as possible. Just antivirus, firewall and other basic stuff is running in the background. Could be one of them but i know they aren't gobbling up resources. i could try playing without them.

Nice. ;)

Left work a bit early today, and took the opportunity to do the grocery shopping. I entered the store without a list (bad idea) and with a pretty healthy appetite (recipe for disaster.)

I bought everything.

The only way it could have possibly been worse is if I smoked a big, fat joint before hitting the store.

By the 3rd aisle my cart was starting to get hard to push. By the time I got to the checkout I could barely see in front of me.

It was a seriously large bill. The folks at Amex is going to dance when they see it.

Took me forever to find places for all this stuff once I got home.

Well,.. at least I won't go hungry... for a while.
