The other Commandos also do melee attacks.

I've seen one where the Commando gets behind an enemy, kicks him down, and then shoots him in the back.

And I've seen one where a Slaver was attacking with knives, and the Commando grabbed him, and stabbed the Slaver with his own knife!

Here's some pics I took at max settings (and yes, you can bind F12 or whatever to a screenshot key and the bmps appear in Gamedata/System/ just like UT).

Yes, I didn't bother to resize them so they are huge (like 160 kb's), only converted to JPEG. They are also fairly dark, but that's how you see them in-game.

Demo "Special" Weapons

All weapons have reloading except the pistol, which recharges (infinite ammo) much like your first gun in Unreal. The grenades you toss don't seem to have variable throwing power or distance, just fire and forget (like SWBattlefront). The Sniper Rifle has two levels of zoom.

(PS: It's interesting how you can't heal the Wookiee's and they can only use melee attacks themselves)

Then you get to use that Trandoshan Turret that fires missiles, and you get four types of grenades. Thermal Detonators, electric shock ones, sonic grenades and I forget the other type. There's a Republic Gunship in the demo, but it's used in a cutscene, rather than drivable.

Your wrist blade only seems to work using the Trooper weapons, except the pistol. For the pistol and everything else you do a rifle butt or pistol whip attack which seems to be just as powerful, although a few of the bigger guns are slower.

If you're curious what your character looks like in third person, here he is, and here!

Yeah, you're right. I've seen some of that too. Like when a grenade flies in, I've seen a trooper grab it and throw it back at the enemy. ;)

You get four types of grenades: thermal detonators, sonic detonators, electrostatic charge detonators, and diversionary flash detonators.

The pistol whip seemed weaker to me. I could usually one hit kill with the wrist blade, but I would have to finish off enemies i pistol whipped by shooting them (or hitting them again).

Other than the fact that Trandoshans are actually worthy enemies of wookiees, and they're way too short (they should def. be taller than humans), the demo rocked.

I finally played through only getitng incapped once.

and that's right after you go in the first door and they're on the catwalks above you. I just can't stay alive at that part no matter what I do.

The Wookiees are too big, too. And some of the Trandos look more like Nikto to me:

I think they just took a lot of liberties in the models, to give it the feel they wanted. It doesnt really bother me. At least its better then the "Noghri" in Jedi Academy.

Yeah, I had problems with that part too. What I do now is

go right to where I need to plant the explosives, and place them as soon as I can, and shoot/nade Trandos in the mean time. It usually gets me past that part fine. I have the most problems with the area right after that. The one with all the droids.

Maybe it is, I could be wrong. As to the types of grenades I just know that one type it seemed like if I threw it and the explosion was onscreen (not that it actually hit me), MY VIEW was distorted. ; )

I guess you have to throw it and then look away...

I assume the electrostatics are for droids, but what about the other two? Is one better? I figure TD's would be good for destroying vehicles or structures, but so far you haven't had to really do any of that (all destruction is done as an objective point). I don't have any pics, but the TD's were the familiar round balls, then there was an hour-glass shaped symbol and a "shaver" symbol, or something.

The ones that you said distorted your vision are the diversionary flash detonators (the hour-glass ones). And yes, that wont happen if you look away. I actually found those to be really powerful, especially against those two really strong Trandos. When I threw them, the affected enemies stopped attacking at all, so I could just go through and slice them up with my wrist blades. The main difference (as far as I could tell) between the thermal detonators and the sonic detonators was that the thermal detonators bounce off of things and explode after a certain amount of time. The sonic detonators (the ones with the green) will stick to what they hit, and will detonate after a certain amount of time or by proximity. They also seemed to have a larger blast radius then TDs, but I'm not sure. I don't really know much about the EC Detonators (I didn't really use them), but the site says they damage droids and organics.

The elctrogreandes are really good against droids. I remember using them int he Xbox demo. They also give organics a jolt and stuns them.

I like the sonic grenades a lot more then thermal detonators because the TD suck. Sonic grenades kill instantly, but sometimes TD will just deal damage.

@Shok

I'll be running around like crazy and shooting after ordering a clone to plant the bomb, but I still get hit in like one shot :/

I also think the clone rifle is way underpowered. I takes half a clip for me to kill anything while my handblaster kills in 2-4 shots.

Was kind of funny the last time I played the demo, I left my entire squad behind (all incapacitated)

when you first get ambushed on the catwalk and have to blow that hatch to escape through the tunnel to the next part

Yet my squad is alive and well (though holding their sides as if wounded) in the next part!

I also like the sonic grenades more, for your reason, and the fact that they stick. When I throw a TD it will sometimes bounce back to far to be useful.

For some reason I've done much better when I just plant the bomb myself, rather than having one of the others do it.

The main advantage I see of the blaster attachment over the handblaster is that when you reach close range you can use the wrist blade instead of the pistol whip. A lot of the time, I do just use the handblaster.

I don't really have a problem with killing enemies as long as I aim for the head...it's cool how you can blast their helmets off... :)

As for the part where you have to plant the bomb with all the Trandos on the catwalk overhead: I found it easiest at first to plant the blomb myself, but now I just have one of the other Commandos do it while I use the sniper rifle to pick off the Trandos. (No zoom) Then it's no longer the kind of deathtrap it is when there's tons of Trandos raining TDs on you and your squad.

Call me crazy but I too use the pistol a lot of times. It's nice not having to worry about reloading, running out of ammo, etc. (Trando: "Cursed weapon, always out of ammo!") Plus it's accurate and seems to do more damage per shot than the rifle. I use the anti-armor attachments for taking out the turret gunner in the first mission and the bowcaster or concussion rifle (which ever I picked up on the mission before) to take out the first horrible heavy weapons Trando, then pick up his heavy repeater to take out the second one.

For the catwalk trap, I find it most useful to get in a corner next to the hatch and then send a Commando to set the charge. If I set the charge I always find myself being shot in the back.

The sniper rifle is also fairly effective against the heavy trandos. Have him shoot at your squadmates while you zoom in and kill him.

Anyone else noticed how when you zoom in with the sniper rifle, it takes one head shot, helmet or no, to kill a trando but without zooming, it takes two shots to kill a trando with a helmet?

I prefer to club with the shotgun. It's a bit reminiscient of how I enjoyed clubbing with my rifle in Call of Duty.
