BongoBob
*taken from my February Issue of Game Informer* MIDWAY EXPLORES LIFE AFTER THE NFL Midway has been pushin the boundaries of footall for years, and it will take full advantage of it's lack of an NGL license in the upcoming Blitz: Playmakers title, set for release in the last quarter of this year on multiple consoles. "No longer bound to the NFL licsence,"explains Midway's cheif of markeing, Steve Allison, "there will be no league restrictions on content. Blitz: Playmakers buyers will be assured of one thing - our game will include all the gameplay and fun the NFL won't allow." That means all the dirty hits, endzone dancing, and off-the-field shenanigans that you can handle will finally be included. Per it's name, Midway even hired a writer of the controversial ESPN show Playmakers to give the game a harsh behind-the-scenes flavor, As for the players, the game will utilize some classic NFL players - who, because they are retired, are not bound by EA's Players Inc. deal. *images opponent catching the ball, and then me kicking him in the nads and taking said ball* Let's hope they can pull this off. I love my blitz game for when friends are over. Also, EA is trying to take over Ubisoft. EA games bought almost a 19.9 percent stake in Ubisoft, and I don't think they're trying to be helpful. All your base are belong to EA : |
Neverhoodian
EA games is the Wal-Mart of the video gaming world. They're very successful, but they have achieved their fame through business practices that can only be described as "domineering, bullying" and "shady." Midway's game sounds pretty fun, in a "guilty pleasure" sort of way. I might even buy it, and I've never bought a sports game in my life. ...Oh my God! I just remembered that I forgot to renew my Game Informer subscription! *runs off to re-subscribe*

Got my ESPN NFL 2K5 and that's all I need ESPN NFL 2K5 pwnd every football game. Blitz Pro, while not quite as fun as the others, is still good multiplayer fun. I hope they take out the 11 on 11 thing, or make it better : \
