nas77
Never played any of the Splinter Cell games but it sounds kind cool since I find the idea of stealthly moving around and killing people... kinda cool. Anyway, is it really worth buying? I knew there was no point listening to ppl at Splinter forums cos they'd all love it obviously, but what about the objective viewpoints of ppl at the Swamp? Also do you reckon it's better to play the first two before playing Chaos Theory for story reasons etc?
Curt-Man
buy the first one, buy the second, buy the third, all damn ass good, definatly worth buying.
El Sitherino
I love the games, Pandora Tommorow wasn't as good as the first, nor is it as good as Chaos Theory, but it's alright. Anyway, if you like to sneak around and kill gusy Ninjawithagun-like. This is it. oh and, Story? <_<

TiE23
Splinter Cell: Awesome, good story, varied levels, graphics showing age, feels staticy. Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommarow: Pretty Effing good, strange story, level design is to weird, more about kill them before they kill you, mulitplayer, not much better graphics than Splinter Cell. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory: "Good God those are awesome graphics!" , violent, knife, more toys, AI, oprotunity objectives, Co-Op, a lot more intense, plenty of "wow" moments. I just finished Chaos, the last 3 levels are a freaking rollercoaster ride! Getting hit by guys will LTL ammo was surprising. The stand off with Shetland was pant wetting goodness! My ratings: Splinter Cell- 9.3 "Unforgetable" Splinter Cell 2- 9.0 "Coulda done better, but good" Splinter Cell 3- 9.9 "Knife!" TiE
nas77
^^ Good, cos I'm more interested in single player than multiplayer to be honest. I was hoping that ppl liked Splinter cell for its sp rather than its mp alone, cos I'd be getting it for pc and my internet connection is waaay too slow for any mp shenanigans. TiE23
I got it for the XBOX for XBL and I already have a ton of computer games. Make sure you have one hell of a comp for Chaos Theory! For the first two, have like (FX5500/9600Pro) 128mb cards, with 512ram and a good CPU For Chaos theory: 1 gig ram, DVD drive, higher end card (FX6600/9800Pro and higher) and around 3 ghz CPU (more or less) My Comp: 3.2ghz CPU 1 gig RAM FX6600 128mb (550mhz clock) On the demo with 800x600 rez at max it sometimes lagged. ET Warrior
The story lines of the three games are completely unrelated, though it is more useful to play them in order to better know the characters. I'd play them in order anyways, the first one is awesome, then the second one adds a few cool new things, and the third one will totally blow you away. nas77
Bloody hell it sounds like I need a ninja-PC to run this. Mine's: 3.2Ghz CPU 512Mb RAM FX 5600 128Mb RAM Can I get away with that for Chaos Theory?

Edit: The first two will run fine on that. TiE

I've never played Pandora Tomarrow, but I'm sure there's been a couple things that I would get better if I had played it. There's alot about Phillip Masse, and his encyption and alagorithms so I wouldn't say that they're not completely unrelated. But you do get a better experience if you play them all in order. The Seeker
The original splinter cell is absolutely awsome. One of the few games in recent memory that begs a replay. Pandora tomorrow is good, but not as good as the first. It took me a bit of thinking, but I got it pegged. In the first one, you really feel like an intelligence spy. Sneaking around in buildings, hacking computers grabbing guys when they're not looking interrogating the ones that you can etc. But with PT, the outdoor environments that they built up so high, just didn't feel Splinter Cell-ish. I felt like I should have a big gun and go blasting through all these outdoor jungle camps rather than sneaking through them. I am almost through with Chaos Theory, and it is by far the best in the series. It has never looked better, never played better, and never been more fun. The addition of the knife was a stroke of genius and makes you wonder why it always hasn't been there. Even so, it is here now, and is better than ever. Personally, I would recommend, playing them in order, since with chaos theory, it feels like they are expecting you to know what you are doing by now. Besides, the other two are pretty cheap now, so play through them and odds are chaos theory will price drop by the time you're ready for it. CapNColostomy
I'd just get the first one, since it can be found for the least ammount of money. If you like it, get the others.
toms
I played through the original Splinter Cell about a month ago. My first experience with a Splinter Cell game: I definately enjoyed the experience, but it didn't blow me away. Graphics hadn't dated too much, and still had the odd cool bit. Sound was pretty good. Levels were very linear... too linear in places. At times it felt more like an interactive movie than a game. PDA menus/interfaces were very annoying. And a few of the controls weren't exactly intuitive. Datasticks were very annoying. There weren't really enough chances to usefully use your coolest moves or toys. Plot was typical nonsensical Tom Clancy rubbish, though told fairly well. It was fairly short. But I tend to like short games to this was fine for me. I think there are three extra levels or something, but by the time i had finished didn't feel the need to look for them. Reminded me a lot of the thief games, but much more focused and not QUITE as good.
Darth Groovy
I only have the first Splinter Cell for the XBOX, and even though it takes some time to learn the controls, and movement, it all pays off once the missions start. It's a great game, and you can get the first Splinter Cell brand new now for dirt cheap on both console and PC.
