General Kenobi
Here's a true Star Wars question for everyone??? What is the "name" of the "galaxy" far far away???
coupes.
The name never was revealed AFAIK. I'm pretty sure the name doesn't even exist in GL's head, and it's fine this way. Some thing are better left unanswered, it helps keep a little fantasy.

Lynk Former
only problem is that the yuuzhan vong suck Maybe if starwars.com still had that thing where you could ask all those questions someone here would be able to send them the question and see if they have an answer... Lynk, dont start a NJO flame/whinefest ... go to teh EU forum for that ...lemme guess, you read 1-2/21 books and it sucked right... no need to "ask the jedi council"..... the SW galaxy has never been named... I am sure my EU brethren would second that to please Lynk though, maybe we can call it NinwankerLand mtfbwya
Prime
Originally posted by Astrotoy7 lemme guess, you read 1-2/21 books and it sucked right... How many entire novels does someone have to read to decide that they don't like the NJO? At what point can someone say that their opinion is valid? Is someone unable to form an opinion on the series when they have three pages left on book 21? I don't think that someone has to watch all seven Police Academy movies to decide for themselves that they don't find them funny.

Lynk Former
Thread reopened. Astro, my NJO comment was a joke, get over it. Just because someone may not like NJO is no reason to close the thread, go ahead and find the yuuzhan vong referance for our favourite lil galaxy far far away cause I honestly thought you'd go ahead and post it but instead you had to act like an ass... or maybe someone else would be nice enough to post it. The point is that this thread seemed to have been unfairly closed just cause you couldn't handle the fact that people have a difference in opinion. Sabretooth
Supershadow calls it the "Vordarian Beltway" galaxy, but he just sucks. I'm thinking it's called, "The" Galaxy. See, the name is "The". Must be some strange alien name, who knows?
Lynk Former
I'm sure if someone did enough research they'd find some a lot of unofficial names for the galaxy lol.

Thread closed because there is nothing else to discuss !!! There is no answer to this question.... How many more posts of "OMG I dont know the answer" do you want.... *sigh* have your fun then * * * Well, to jog your minds (to help remember something that was never named) here is a picture In most official EU maps, it was only ever referred to as "The Known Galaxy" if at all.... I cant remember what it said in the ESB novelisation, but some EU sources stated that the rebel fleets rendezvous point was at the rim of the known galaxy.... I really cant remember and dont have my ESB novel to check. It could just be a forming star, but I doubt it and Lynk, I have no idea where in the entire 21 books that one word is All I can remember is that it was a reference, not a name. eg. "The Promised Land," that type of thing... Sabretooth you could be shot for daring to quote that jackass supershadow mtfbwya
ET Warrior
There may be nobody who knows, but we can all speculate and form our own opinions of what it may be called. Imma call it the EeTee Galaxy.

Prime
Sorry Astro, I couldn't resist. But anyway... Astrotoy7
Originally posted by Prime Sorry Astro, I couldn't resist. But anyway... But in ROTJ Vader says that Rebel fleat was amassing near Sullust... hmmm.... Prime - do you think they made me EU mod coz I was handsome.... There is almost ONE YEAR to account for between the end of ESB and the start of ROTJ.... this period of time in EU was very cleverly filled with the 'Shadows of the Empire' book/comic/game (each of which has different elements to add)... In ROTJ....remember the Fleet that has gathered, Mon Mothma gives the speech etc.... THAT is the fleet which has by now reorganised at the "rendezvous" point (referred to earlier in ROTJ) at Sullust. This also explains the compliment of sullustans that are on this mission, including Lando's co-pilot... what you see at the end of ESB is where the Rebels escaped to after Hoth. Hoth is so far towards the outer edge of the outer rim that it is not unlikely that they are indeed just outside the galactic border.... The SOTE book starts a little after the end of ESB, when Luke and Leia arrive on Tatooine. However, the comic starts not too far after the end of ESB and shows the Rebel Fleet being dispersed from their position by Imperial Pursuit.... Prime... better luck next time in trying to topple the juggernaut that is Astro's EU skillz mtfbwya

Lynk Former
Well after recieving his nice and shiny gold plates from being under the service of Padme, he did eventually get attached to the Rebellion and suffered a lot of wear and tear through many situations...
