Master_Ginn Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 So i was walking in walmart the other day, and i noticed a table with mothers day gifts and such. but when I read the sign that was on the table it said "Mothers day is Sunday, May 8. Hispanic Mothers day Monday, May 10." Either i never realized that there was a hispanic mothers day every year or is this a new idea? And if there is a seperate day hispanics celebrate mothers day, why, and how long ago did originate? Any help understanding this would be.....well helpful.
Acrylic Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Maybe the hispanic culture started a new (or old) mother's day or something? Either that or Walmart is racist.

The Hidden One Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Strange. Wal-Mart must be trying to sell more stuff. Like they even need to.
Master_Ginn Posted May 7, 2005 Author Posted May 7, 2005 So i guess being a different nationality allows you to change holidays to your liking. Whats next irish American mothers day on may 14th?
narfblat Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 So is the Hispanic Mother's day on Monday, May 9th or Tuesday, May 10th? BongoBob needs to know so he doesn't ask his teacher early.
ET Warrior Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 He could ask her on monday if there is a celebration on tuesday... He doesn't have to wait until the day of.
Master_Ginn Posted May 8, 2005 Author Posted May 8, 2005 No. Irish Mother's Day is on May 12... I can never remember, i always get that and Native American mothers day mixed up. I'm so stupid!
ET Warrior Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 I think my roommate will be celebrating Persian mothers day sometime next week, though I am not certain.
