Jan Gaarni
Seen it. Some say it'll flopp, others believe it will work. Have no real opinion myself. I'm a PC guy. But, for Nintendo's sake, I hope it works out good. I enjoyed their Mario and Link games (primearly).
Snafu7
definately different, I think it'll be kinda neat, but it isn't going to change gaming forever IMO
El Sitherino
Perverts dream, but seems they've turned their back since it's Nintendo. Whatever, I think it's pretty badass. Before Lynky comes in here and ruins the fun Keep your personal affairs to PM's.

90SK
Wow. It's certainly a gamble, on their part. I know, as a long time classic-Nintendo gamer, that type of controller is indeed a bit of a turnoff. I guess we'll only know when it comes out. 90SK
Just in it's deviation from the norm, you know? Such a drastic change would invoke mixed feelings in die-hard stereotypical controller fans, and might scare some people with the prospect of learning a brand-new controller system. This is purely speculation, though. I'm still looking forward to trying it out.
Astrotoy7
would it be safe to assume that third party manufacturers would have an old school type controller available eventually for people who just cant get use to the new one ?? who know, cant wait to try it out, on Rogue Squadron 4 I hope !!! mtfbwya

The shell will have a more traditionnal "controller" look and feel, but at the same time, the Revolution controller capabilities will still be active. IGN has already created a mock-up of what it might look like, you can find it in this article : Understanding the Revolution Controller.
90SK
Very very cool! This...very cool. Nintendo really has covered all their bases with this one.
Lynk Former
Unfortunately there will be no Rogue Squadron 4 now that Factor 5 has jumped ship to Sony, and the game they're working on for Sony isn't part of the RS series. Additionally, all Revolution games will use the Revolution controller as it's basis, only specific ports and legacy games will use the classic controller shell which will most likely not look like the GCN controller seeing as it has to emulate the NES, SNES and N64 as well as the GCN controller. El Sitherino
... Wow, that's really retarded looking and no way would it be possible to actually use something like that. The layout is just far too ... ugh. Too cramped.
Lynk Former
That and the fact that that IGN mockup is physically impossible considering the D-Pad and C-Stick now have the Revolution controller imbedded in them.

Astrotoy7
... and the game they're working on for Sony isn't part of the RS series.... *cries* I have always wanted to play online and do the battle of yavin, etc online with fellow daring XW pilots and super crisp next gen grafix. I know you can sortve do this with battlefront but BF just isnt RS as far as gameplay and grafix goes mtfbwya
90SK
Interesting. Eh, I don't know. The controller shell system is a good idea, but it all depends on how they pull it off. Like Sith said, the thing is cramped. But it'll certainly draw diehard gamecube fans into Revolution's folds. I guess we can only know once it comes out. Lynk Former
@ Astro: I know what you mean, the multiplayer options on Rogue Squadron 3 were so kickass, I would've loved to be able to play RS4 online against folks from LF Oh well, but seeing as the Revolution controller seems ideal for a lot of different Star Wars games maybe LucasArts won't be so quick to abandon Nintendo this time around. @ CaptainSkye: Yeah, the IGN mockup does look cramped, even if it is the carbon copy of the GCN controller... good thing my mockup spreads it out a lot more and positions the more important things into some easy access areas @ coupes.: Thanks
Darkest Wolf
I think it could work (Just imagine using the controller like a lightsaber!! OMG how kewl would that be) It might be hard for 3rd part develops because they can't just port games, but the committed developers live capcom will probably utilise its features well. As for Factor 5 leaving Nintendo, that's the worst news I heard for a long time *Sighs* it seems Nintendo is doing its best to ruin its relationships with good develops, First rare, then silicon knights, now Factor 5, ninty have gone too far this time, they may well make amazing consoles, but with no developers there's not going to be many games.
