(sorry doc) well except hurling, now THAT's an impressive damn sport.

spinkle Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 actually baseball is huge in japan...HUGE. some of the best batters all time are from the japanese leagues, like sadaharu oh who still holds the all-time pro baseball record for home runs with 868. let the RCCM come! i know rugby players =) you're right tho; world series doesn't really apply. it's just the name by tradition at this point.

C'mon now. Fox really dropped the ball even bothering to start their new shows in september, i would have preferred just to wait till november and see them run contiguously.

Hell, the only sport I even remotely like is the real football (for those of you who don't know, I'm talking about "soccer").
spinkle Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 nah, i'm not watching the game. but grand slams are always cool to see, especially the two-outs, full-count, go-ahead grand slams that redetermine the course of a playoff game! that's one of the *exciting* aspects of baseball. if only the entire 162 game season could feel that meaningful. plus this is a world series thread, it's a pretty appropriate place to post on something that actually happened rather than off-topic ranting, which is more my skill =D incidentally i watch a grand total of 1 hour of tv a week. =|
