Petecass86 Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Hi, im new to this board but my question is what sort of prices do the Sam and Max comics go for. Which ones is it reasonable to fork out a lot for and which ones are not? Its just if you look on amazon the Surfin' the Highway book sells for obscene amounts. So im interested in Knowing what makes it so expensive and how much some of the others are likely to fetch.
xChri5x Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Surfin' the highway is super rare, so thats why. I WASNET CRAZY AFTER ALL! I swear there used to be one for 400 + http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/offer-listing/1569248141/ref=dp_olp_2//104-6136913-7415131?condition=all
itchythesamurai Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Heh, that link doesn't work...sounds crazy to me.
toenail1 Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 I see it for $288.99 , thats not quite over $400 but definitely more than it's worth. You can find them on ebay once in a while for $70 (if you're lucky enough to win it)
xChri5x Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 actually, you know, now that I think about it, I think it was over 1000. The one I saw anyway. I posted about it in another thread.
SyntheticGerbil Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I don't know if it's worth anything over 65, but none of you can get it that way. The best thing anyone should do is find someone who can scan a copy for you. Which isn't me by the way, unless you want to be my best friend and help me fight for what's right.
Scummbuddy Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I wouldn't be against scanning it, if Steve Purcell, himself, weren't still selling them on eBay. Our favorite artist has to make a living. Well, Pixar isn't bad, well, you all know what I mean.
SyntheticGerbil Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 He seems to be selling it more as a novelty item on Ebay rather than something people want to read.
Gotholympians Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I've got a scanned copy of Surfin' the Highway on my harddrive in .cbr format that I got from ZCult back in the day, so someone's already done that. If requested, I could e-mail it to whoever might want it.
M_Southwick Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Gotholympians, if you could send me a copy it would be much appreciated. My e-mail is M_SouthwickII@Yahoo.com.
itchythesamurai Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I would't mind the hook up Goth. itchythesamurai@sbcglobal.net
woxel1 Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 When did Surfing the Highway become such a commodity?
Mickey1215 Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 If you could send me a copy, you would be the greatest person ever. I have looked everywhere. <Pure exaggeration.>
skink Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Me too. I once had it in scanned form and lost it to a computer crash. My hard drive seems empty without it <My email might be on my profile anyway> Thanks alot !
SMNMX Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 What is .cbr format and what do I need to view it??
SyntheticGerbil Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 What a stupid idea to just post your E-mail address.
Mickey1215 Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Hey, spam and viruses don't matter to me as long as there is the chance to be reunited with my beloved sam & max
Hino Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Just incase, send them my way please. I'll give you e-cookies. <Email gone, cookies unsatisfactory.> And .cbr is Comic Book Reader format, you download a simple, small program to read them with, going by the same name.
SMNMX Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Hmm... can't find a .cbr reader for Mac. Why can't people use .pdf like sane personages.
Petecass86 Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 hi, could you send me a copy if your able to, thanks. my email is <useless as I've moved to Tibet.>
Jake Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 smnx: try "jomic" from versiontracker.com wait are you using this to read surfin the highway? tut tut
