Jaden25 Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 During the general order sixty six scene we see serveral planets in it and the one that ki mindu is on looks a lot like Hoth from Emprie Strikes Back let me know if you guys saw that thanks
Commander Obi-Wan Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 His name is Ki-Adi-Mundi and like TK-8252 said, "...Except it looks nothing like Hoth." Only similarity is that there is snow/ice in both of them.

RobQel-Droma Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Yeah, it looks nothing like Hoth. He is on a huge walkway while it is raining (I think). I have no clue how you thought it looked like Hoth, I didn't see any ice at all. If anything, it looked more like Kamino or something.

Kurgan Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Actually, all of the "locales" in Star Wars could be on the same planet. How realistic is it for every planet to have only one climate, or style of architecture, or culture, etc? Anyway, famous Star Wars brainbug, don't think about it too hard.
Sabretooth Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 http://www.starwars.com/databank/location/mygeeto/index.html Tada!
The Doctor Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 It looks nothing like Hoth. Hoth was an uninhabited world, was it not? Only used by smugglers and pirates to hide secret bases? There was actually bits of civilization on the planet you speak of. Where did you get the idea that it looks like Hoth?
Kurgan Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 The movie never gives us the name of the planet, and since it looks "snowy" one can put two and two together and say "maybe it's Hoth" unless they're a big enough nerd to know the background details that it's a ROTS invention. Hoth is a big planet, who's to say that it may have had some cities on it a quarter century before ESB? I know, I know, I'm just saying, I can see why somebody would think that.
The Doctor Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 ^ Because it is said in ESB by one of the Imperials that Hoth is an uninhabited world. THAT'S HOW WE KNOW (just kidding. I don't want to tick off an admin.)

I don't want to tick off an admin.) Didn't the Imperial guy (Ozzel) just say "supposed to be devoid of human forms"? And they could have abandoned the planet in that 23+ year span... anyway, you were kidding, so nvm.
JawaJoey Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 From what we know about EU, it's Mygeeto, not Hoth. From what we know from the movies, it's not Hoth. It looks like it's snowing and icy, to me, but I can accept that it's ash, not snow. It's still definitely a cold place, though. But there are no reasons to think its Hoth, and plenty of reasons to know that it isn't. And about the climates, yeah, I've thought of that. It's awfully convenient that each planet has it's own climate that apparently extends across the entire planet. There's an arctic planet, a forest planet, a desert planet, a water planet, a swamp planet, and Coruscant appear to be just as habitable on the poles as it does on the equator. So darn convenient, isnt it? Oh well, how exciting would the movies be if they all took place on the same planet?
Kurgan Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 A good point, the other thing that gives us a "Hoth vibe" is the familiar (or pretty darn close to it) "Snowtrooper" uniforms.
