[WIP] Thin lightsaber blades

so i was bored today after the Ohio State football game, and was goofing around on my comp when i noticed something -

with some of the thiner custom made hilts that are out there, the default saber textures (which are crappy anyway) tend to have this problem - the "core" of the blade is wider then the actual hilt itself.

that being said, i thought this was a grave injustice to some of the supurb hilts that have been made by others for these games had this glaring, eyecatching, irritating annoyance.

and ofcourse, with me being me, i decided to *cough* fix this >.>

teaser screenie-

the sabers that are in the pic are from the USM and oldflash's default overwriting sabers

I'll get some before/after pics tomorrow, but i wanted to get some feedback and critisizm (constructive or destructive, whichever floats you boat) and if anyone else would want this up for download when i get done with my nit-picking over the textures.

-side note-

if you are like me, and hate the default textures anyway, shem made better ones for both k1 and k2. give them a look-see. One thing i've noticed with all the star wars game's i've played, is that how a lightsaber blade "should" look is very much open to debate. If you dont like how it looks, or what others change it too, make your own ;) I did, and im just interested if others like what im tinkering with ;)

This looks fantastic. Kotor has new hilts, new robes, new weapons, all kinds of mods to make it look better, but there's no good saberblade mod's (that i know of) that make blades look "real" and by that i mean, similiar to the movies.

I'd be more than happy to get my hand's on this mod, after its done.

  • 3 weeks later...

i have all the new textures in a zip, i have a readme, what i DON'T have is a comparison shot for every saber.

i keep forgeting to clean out my override folder before i start playing :p

all i've done is cut down on some of the excessive glow, and made the core's thiner. nothing too excessive. From what i've seen from other peoples screenshots, it could just be a problem with old vid cards like mine ;)
