Pfff, you stole our Nordiques :xp:

Being a montrealer, it is unavoidable that I'm a Montreal Canadiens fan. :D You have to be if you live in this town. Or we unleash a lynch mob on you.

Defensemen will adapt eventually to the new rules. The game is faster and more enjoyable. Personally, the high scoring doesn't bother me. It's a nice break from soccer where there's little scoring.

The anti-goalie rules however, I don't like them. It gets really tough for goalies to do anything, especially sicne they can't pick up the puck in the corners any more. Some call it the anti-Brodeur rule since he's the best at doing that and now can't anymore.

The best additions are shoot-outs. During soccer competitions, shoot-outs are wonderfully stressing. Your heart is pounding very fast.

It's the same for shoot-outs in the NHL. They're simply awesome to watch. However, they should increase the number of tries from 3 to 5. 3 just seems too low.

My favorite team use to be the Blackhawks, but now that more of the players I really liked on that team play in the Flyers now, Philly is now my favorite team. If the owner isn't out to with the Stanley Cup like the Blackhawks' owner, then what the point? Also got to root for the Kings since they have my favorite player, Jeromie Reonick.

i'm from philadelphia, so i'm a de facto flyers fan. hockey is by far my favorite sport. however, lacking the patience to watch television, i rarely see games unless i'm at the bar drinking and the game happens to be on.

the only team i dislike are the devils, mostly because i loathed jacques lemaire [sp] for a REALLY long time and still have absolutely no respect for him as a coach or a person (i will point out that this is a very, very, very rare sentiment for me to express. any hockey coach who INSTRUCTS his players to hip check does not deserve any modicum of positive regard, imo...not to mentioning benching martin brodeur when his whole family came out to a game to see him play. not that i mind the recent anti-brodeur rules of course ;))

i'm still severely disappointed that the nordiques moved =( i can't bring myself to cheer for the avalanche, it just makes me feel dirty.

Well, the Philadeplia Flyers have quite a stacked team. With Forsberg, and Gagne. Jusst to name a few. The one of the better teams in the NHL this season. Well, there usually one of the better teams since they were founded.

before the league realignment, the patrick division was *the* toughest division in the nhl. at the end of a lot of seasons, the flyers would miss the playoffs with more points than some leaders in other divisions =\ i'm hoping for a good run this year. =)

moeller, if you want to see some seriously f-ed up team names, start checking out minor league baseball.
