Hahahahahahaha!

I've always hated the habs. :p They act like they're Manchester freakin' United.

Although this goes against all my Canucks DNA

And the Habs happen to be a legendary team who is perhaps the most popular in the whole world. They won 24 Stanley Cups and have seen some of the greatest player in hockey history in their team.

By the way, they don't "act" like Manchester United, even if there was a way to act like them. MU just happens to be one of the most popular soccer clubs in history.

Ain't anyone's fault if you, being a Canucks fan, are just jealous of the pride others have. Oh wait, did you even get into the playoffs? No? Awww and every "expert" said that you guys would be number one. Hurts huh?

Nothing like losing on a shot from the blue line.

Yeah...after quite a game I must say, the Canadiens played very well and missed a lot of shots by just a few centimeters. They should've won but fate decided otherwise.

It's almost time for the new season to start. Within two days it will be. Much as happened since the season finished with the Oilers losing to the 'Canes. :( There has been quite a few big trades this summer. Luongo is in Vancouver, and Bertuzzi is in Florida. And Pronger is in Anaheim (my word to him are not appropriate), and Edmonton has Lupul. And there are a few significant signings too.

So, you know how it goes. What teams would you like to go far?

Most of us know that I am an Oilers fan, and some believe this year they are destined to suck. I believe otherwise. Just because Pronger left doesn't mean we suck. Now, we have a more potent offense, better than last year. We have a decent starting goaltender. My only concern is our defense, but it isn't too bad. I am quite confident that we can make the playoffs though I am not sure where we will rank.

Other teams I think that will go far would include: San Jose (Cheechoo and Thorton), Anaheim (Pronger and Neidenmeyer (spelling?) unforunately. Ottawa and Philly. Atlanta, Calgary, and Minnesota will have better years, though I am not so sure about the Flames since I despise them. There are also some more teams I like, that I can post on a later date, due to my time left to post this.

So, what are your picks?

*sigh* Would like to say my beloved Canucks might be a threat but I really can't see it happening. Without Big Bad Bert mauling his way down the right side, I think Nazzy and Morrison are going to find their totals dropping. I'm glad they got Luongo out of the deal, but losing Cloutier for a couple of draft picks? *smacks David Nonis with a rolled-up newspaper* Bad GM! Bad, bad GM! Losing Jovo to free agency really hurts, too. I'm looking at their current roster on http://www.canucks.com and I'm thinking, "Who the hell are these guys?!" I think they came close to making a run for the top spot, then Bertuzzi did his famous bonehead smackdown on Moore and they lost it right there.

They've got a proven goalie to build around, but I really can't see the Canuckleheads challenging for serious domination in either the regular season or (barring David Nonis learning how to Generally Manage a hockey team) the playoff in '07. Sadly.

Not to mention you have a lot of young guys that now have great playoff experience...

Love the Oil, and we'll have to see how my local Senators do. Hopefully Gerber can step up...

I'm looking at Pittsburgh just to see how Crosby and Malkin do. Sure, the Penguins will get nowhere as usual, but those guys can sure put on a good show...even when losing 6-1 >_>

Ovechkin at Washington will also be cool to watch.

Luongo won't help the Canucks if they don't have a team. Even Patrick Roy can't win the Stanley Cup by himself. I saw the roster this morning and thought that Luongo didn't really go to a better team then with the Panthers.

The Senators have always been good during the season, get to the playoffs with ease and then...lose. I don't see how that'll change this year, but I do hope they can at least get to the final. After all these years of frustation, they deserve it.

The Oilers have changed quite a bit with lots of departures. At least it isn't like the Hurricanes' situation. Those guys lost a lot of great elements and Eric Cole still has to get over his neck injury.

The Canucks seem nice. Again, lots of defense, few offense, but they'll do good.

I'm a Montréal Canadiens guys but the team has 0 depth. None. They lose one single member of the A team and they're almost down on their knees. Sad.

Finally, I hope Toronto goes down in flames! I hope they get eliminated at day 1 of their season. They got no team! No team! Burn Leafs! BURN!

Oh...and the cup better come back to the country that cares about hockey this year! It better! :fist:

Well I went into my first Hockey Pool. $20 to get in, theres only 10 people, and the person who wins the Cup gets $200. I picked Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, and then i get another pick. maybe the Penguins, not sure.

The Canucks might actually get to the Playoffs this year...i hope.

Yeah, but with a change in goal maybe it gives them a new outlook to go with some of the new D they've got back there. The Canucks are obviously in *shakeup* mode now, and I'm really not seeing a whole helluva lot of decent offence there. That big gaping hole on the right side just makes me think about how much their offence depended on the West Coast Express line, and they gotta get someone decent in there fast.

Btw, what happened to Anson Carter? There's no mention of him on the team site...did he get traded or hurt or die or something? Anyone know?
