Brushguy
MID-MORNING PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCES FREE DOWNLOADABLE SAM AND MAX ADVENTURE GAMES http://www.flintlocked.com The independent games developer Mid-Morning Productions announced today the development of three new adventure games based off of the beloved characters of Steve Purcell’s comic series, Sam and Max. The games will have separate release dates and will be available independently, but they will all be part of a single story arc, entitled Sam & Max: Flintlocked. After each game’s release, the new game will be available for download from http://www.flintlocked.com and/or other available mirrors, to run on most computers running a Windows-based operating system. Although the games are "fan games" and Mid-Morning Productions does not own the legal rights for a video game based upon the characters, the games have been given the go-ahead by series creator Steve Purcell, and the developers are dedicated towards creating a hilarious pseudo-sequel to the cult 1993 PC hit, "Sam & Max Hit the Road," developed by Lucasarts. The new games are being developed on the highly flexible SLUDGE adventure game development software, developed by Hungry Software. The demo of the first game should be released some time in 2006, with a closed beta beforehand to test system requirements and general flow of game play. Any further news on the games’ developments will be posted on http://www.flintlocked.com. Any questions or comments should be directed to the forums located at http://www.flintlocked.com/forum/. Registering at the site is not required for posting on the forums. About Mid-Morning Productions Appearing in its earliest form on the fan site http://www.samandmax.net’s forums (forums hosted by http://www.lucasforums.com) in March 2004, the original proposition of the creation of a Sam and Max fan game was received with many offering their services. However, as time went on and hard work began on the project, many team members dropped away, leaving only a skeleton crew of dedicated members to guide the project. These members have been working on the game for over a year and a half now, and it has become a true labor of love.

Joshi
It's nice that every so often, when people come up with these idea's to make such fan-games, usually because of some such annoyance or dissapointment, such as the cancellation of Sam n Max 2, that once in a while, people actually see it through instead of being those people who think they're gonna do something and then see the reality of it and quit before they've even started. Even if this game is bad (and I doubt that'll be the case), it'll at least show the power of the dedicated fan. Good work. And on another note, the screenshots look mighty nice.
