Ok, but on the USM mod, the Blood of Malevolence double bladed lightsaber has only one blade, yet it is classified as a double blade. the other blade is a spike, and does not add an extra hum to the sound. I need to know how to edit an existing lightsaber and make it long.

Wait... could i modify the Blood of Malevolence saber and put in an extra hum for the other blade, then put in a model for the other blade I want to be long and change all the names?

Hi Darth Xana, My Blood of Malevolence uses Malaks longer lightsaber blade. the reason it works like a double is because I renamed it as a double, but its really a single.

As it stand now with modding lightsabers it's not possible to extend the length of the blades planes. We just have to make do with whats available.

How do you rename it as a double (what do you rename it to), and how do you get it to work with a different model on one of the different sabers, either single or double? By the way T7nowhere, how did you get the second blade to be a spike? Was that part of the single saber?

Also, what is the name of the model of the malak saber that i would have to change the .tga model of any other saber into?

Well, when I exported the model from nwmax and then compiled the mode it was named w_lghtsbr_001.mdl, w_lghtsbr_001.mdx, I then renamed the files to w_dblsbr_210.mdl, w_dblsbr_210.mdx.

I rigged my mesh with a malaks model and replaced that sabers hilt mesh with my mesh. TO make the spike I just modeled in max it to be like that.

w_lghtsbr_006.mdl w_lghtsbr_006.mdx To be honest I'm not sure what your talking about.

my recomendation to you is to read through some of the tutprials found in the tutorial forums.

Let me see if I have this right:

Make a long saber

1- Copy the w_lghtsbr_006.mdl and w_lghtsbr_006.mdx

2- Rename to the saber you want to make long

3- Put in override

To make double long saber

1- Copy the w_lghtsbr_006.mdl & .mdx

2- Rename to saber you want to make long

3- Rename both files and the lightsaber .uti file to dblsbr

4- Put in override

Is that how you do it? P.S. T7, Cant you just use KOTOR tool to select the GFF file and change it to a double saber instead of changing the names?

Ok, Your missing something vital here. What makes the long Malak saber have a longer blade than the rest is the model. If you want to make a new saber use the long saber model then you need to referance the mode in the uti(item file)

To make a double saber long like my Blood of Malevolence you need to import the model into Gmax(nwmax) and rig the double hilt mesh with malaks single bladed lightsaber model, this will however give you a double saber with only one long blade.

At this time it is not possible to make a double saber have to long blades.

I just thought of something. Do the curved sabers (Nihilus, Type C, etc...) have different .mdl and .mdx files than the regular sabers? Will I be able to make the nihilus saber long?

Ofcourse they do and no you will not be able to make the Nihilus saber long, unless you import the model into gmax and rig that hilt mesh with w_lghtsbr_006 export and then replace.

You can check the list of our Kotor forums here: http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=321 - the modding forums are in the Editing section.

...and have a look at the tutorials here at Holowan too. All these stickies are there for something...
