~DarthGeek~
Ok, I started a new game on KOTOR 1, when I got to the under city Carth wouldn't talk or follow me. Then here's the creepy part, I shut down my com and left, came back turned it on, went to my save, loaded it doo do doo do dooo and BAM!!! My screen was black with what looked the Ebon Hawk's turret in front of me, couldn't move, Carth was gone so I went into the party select screen, his portrait was gone and when I clicked on it it said " I'm broken, so very very broken." :compcry:

RedHawke
If you get the "I am broken, so very very broken!" comment about any of your NPC"s your savegame has likely gotten a glitch that the game couldn't recover from, you will have to start from an earlier save or you will have to restart the whole game. Look at the bright side, at least you weren't too far into the game. Because of things like this I always save often and in different slots. As RedHawke said, it is a glitch that the game can't correct, most likely a character model that is messed up.
~DarthGeek~
I took your advice and went to another save that works fine, but Carth will not talk or follow me.
Samnmax221
Whats the current state of your computer: Messed up?
~DarthGeek~
It's not messed up anymore Carth just won't follow me. Example: I'm walking, I turn around and he's still just standing there. Try to talk to him, he just looks at me. All other saves work fine.

~DarthGeek~
@ Reclaimer:I can move Carth myself but who wants to do that in every area? @ Samnmax221: My computer is fine now cause I was messin with apearance.2da file and that's what caused the creepy part, why Carth won't follow or talk to me is still eluding me. Reclaimer
@ Reclaimer:I can move Carth myself but who wants to do that in every area? Alright, think your problem is with a party follow file, which enables your party to follow you. It's either missing or corrupted. You might have to un-install then re-install KOTOR. You might have to un-install then re-install KOTOR. I think that's the AI script "k_ai_master". If you don't want to re-install, I think stoffe -mkb- made a modified AI you can just drop into your Override folder.

Det. Bart Lasiter
Come to think of it though, I think that one's for KotOR II... here's the k_ai_master.ncs file for KotOR I: http://h1.ripway.com/jmac7142/k_ai_master.rar
~DarthGeek~
Uhhh, new problem. Carth's head is like everywhere.(I'll post a screen if someone tells me how).
Det. Bart Lasiter
To take a screenshot hit printscreen and the game writes the screenshot (in Targa/*.tga format) to your game directory. After that convert it to JPEG and upload it to an image host (try imageshack.us) and use IMG tags to post the URL or the image. The file from the archive I posted was ripped right from my game, which is working fine, so I doubt it's causing this problem. Didn't you say you were messing around with appearance.2da though? ~DarthGeek~
I was messin with them but i fixed that, I did download a new mod that changed Carth's head.(dumb question, how do you change tga files to jpeg?)
Det. Bart Lasiter
Open them in Photoshop or GIMP or whatever then save it as a JPEG.

Samnmax221
and I thought my disapearing desert floor was messed up, to think a mod did that much damage
~DarthGeek~
Well, it changed Carth's head, so took it out of my override, then that. The mod is the one that gives you the republic clone armour, it made Carth's head look like a clone from episode III.
Reclaimer
Hmm...looks like you're going to have to re-install KOTOR, then install the mods again. Also you might want to use cchargin's KOTOR Mod Manager. Here's the link http://www.pcgamemods.com/mod/10347.html
~DarthGeek~
SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!!! I fixed it! The .mdl file from the mod and the Carth .mdl file were conflicting.
