xBox locked up on Malak fight!!!!!!!!

Well, this happened the second time I was playing KOTOR. The first time I used one of the on-line walkthroughs to solve it as a Dark Side male. On this second time through, I was a Light Side female.

Since I had been breezing through (on easy mode), I only had been saving in two slots. The second slot was right before I crash landed on the Star Forge system planet (with the temple and all). The first slot was for all of my Star Forge saves.

So, I got to the final battle with Malak. I was using Knight Speed and Force Storm to kill all the Jedi in the tanks that Malak feeds from. He caught up to me on the last tank. I was low on health, so I decided to not engage him in battle and keep running to the last tank.

Then I saved the game. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After I killed the last Jedi, I turned to re-engage Malak for what I thought was the last fight. The thing was, he wouldn't fight me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It only gave me the "dialogue" option and not the "attack" option. I ran around, jumed up and down, wiggled my toes, and just about kicked my dog. A bug apparently. My progress from the Star Forge planet was ruined. So I hung my head and went back to my only other save to begin the long process to get back to Malak.

On the second save slot, I was in the cockpit of the Ebon Hawk, standing next to Carth. However, he was postioned just so, between me and the pilot seat, so that I could not get around him!!!!!! And since you can't control NPC's on the Ebon Hawk, I couldn't move him out of the way. Screwed again.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so dejected, I just moved onto KOTOR II. Which I'm really enjoying now.

Has something like this happened to anyone else here?

Thanks,

Necro.

This was partly the catalyst for your issues, you didn't use enough save slots, I use around 15-20 for a playthrough, why so many, you might ask?

Because of the unforseen bugs and glitches that can happen. I have had flawless playthroughs and ones that just glitched up from the start, multiple slots allow you to recover from a catastrophic bug with far less pain.

Hence why in TSL they added in during area transitions the tip to "Save often and in different save slots." ;)
