ET Warrior
And some people just don't want xbox live....so they are basically screwed.Someone can correct me if I'm mistaken, but I BELIEVE The Xbox Live Silver service is available for free, and this offers people downloads and console updates and the like, as well as access to premium content if they're willing to pay a few bucks for it. Of course, this doesn't help those without high-speed internet, but can we really consider someone without high-speed internet an actual person? I currently own an Xbox 360, and I love it even though I only play Fight Night and Oblivion on it, but with the upcoming titles seen at E3 I'm VERY pleased that I've got it. I will absolutely be buying a Wii as soon as it is released, it's just too dang awesome to be without. As for the PS3? MEH. Sure, it's got a couple neat titles looming for it, but at 600 dollars and only a couple titles that interest me? No thanks. I think Sony will take a huge loss of the console market this round. ET Warrior
the pc will win against the winner thats who wins Guess what? Nobody cares. This isn't a PC thread. This thread has nothing to do with PC's or PC games. IT's a thread about consoles, so go play some pc games while we talk.

Yes, I forgot to mention the Silver service, sorry about that. Working at a store on the edge of two cities, I still get alot of rural types that don't have anything past 56k, or no internet at all. I know it makes us laugh, but you would be sad and surprised how many people out there are just not connected. I don't know why ANYONE would pay $399 for a system and not have some form of high speed connection. You'd be surprised at how many people I get with that problem though. Lynk Former
So you play on non-Nintendo consoles because your friends own them but you don't own any console other than Nintendo. Interesting. I have one more question then. Suppose for a moment that you didn't have access to a game console you didn't own. You can play Nintendo games already because you own a Nintendo console. However if you wanted to play games like Halo 2 or Metal Gear and had to buy a Microsoft and/or a Sony console, would you do so? Answer: Do you think I'm made of money? Buying multiple consoles and games for all of those consoles is EXPENSIVE, especially down here in Australia where prices for games and consoles are much more than in the US. A few friends and I who I have known since I was a kid have a pact, we each buy separate videogame consoles so we all don't have to buy them all and we always borrow each others consoles and games so we get to play it all without having to buy it all. But what if I had none of that? Well I would try to buy at least one other console, however if I found I just couldn't afford it, I wouldn't bother. Just like I can't afford to buy every single anime or every single game for the current Nintendo console. But remember this, just because I like Nintendo and don't like Sony and Microsoft doesn't mean I don't like the games on their systems. I like a lot of developers such as Capcom and Namco, etc, etc. But the thing is I don't like Sony and I don't like Microsoft because they both made very SUCKY consoles and are pumping so much crap into their console that have nothing to do with videogames and try to convince me it's better while making it more expensive. Worse is that they're running with the same old formula that I've known since the days of the NES and I’m getting bored of it. Don't think that I'm following Nintendo blindly either cause before the Nintendo DS was announced, I was ready to stop playing videogames altogether cause games were just getting too boring and nothing was changing. I thought the next generation would be exactly the same as the N64/PS1 generation or the DC/GCN/PS2/XBOX generation. Same thing, just prettier. Nintendo did something different and when they announced that the "Revolution" would have that same change I was 100% behind them all the way. Love Nintendo as a developer and as a hardware manufacturer, but also love all of those developers that are out there who make the games I enjoy. Also love Sega, they also had kickass hardware for a time and they used to have a lot of great games, though these days Sega isn't as cool as they used to be. Do I like Sony and Microsoft? God no, they haven't done anything of real substance to change the industry, and don't say "Xbox live" cause online gaming was inevitable from the days of the NES. Btw, Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 is on the GCN lol
Char Ell
I dunno. You could be one rich Aussie for all I know. But I just wanted to see if you would buy an Xbox 360 or PS3 if there was no other way to play their games. I think your answer was a qualified yes you would buy one or the other. I was surprised by that. *shrugs* But now that you described the arrangement you have with your friends, I wonder: Who is the unlucky one whose lot it is to buy the PS3? Seriously, won't he get the shaft having to fork out the $750AUD or whatever it is the PS3 will cost there in Australia? Lucky for you the Revolution costs the least among the three. Btw, Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 is on the GCN lol Well, if anything this proves that I am indeed who I claim to be, a non-console gamer.
milo
Well, if "winning" the console war is defined as selling the most units, then my prediction is the Wii wins, with Xbox 360 close behind, and PS3 in third. The Wii is doing something new and interesting, plus it's a lot less than the other two systems, making it very attractive. The 360 will do well, especially when Halo 3 comes out (that's what I'm waiting for), but the PS3 isn't gonna be so hot. Sure, a hardcore gamer will shell out 600 bucks for the brand they love, but how many hardcore playstation fans are there in the world? Just my 2 cents
