Happy Memorial Day!

Today, I am reminded once again

that our American freedom is not free.

The special veterans in my life were:

Alva Walker, my grandfather, 1893-1975, WWI

Reece Brockett, my uncle, 1928-2000, WWII, Pacfiic Theater (Japan)

I salute the wounded, the missing, the prisoners of war,

and especially all of those who sacrificed their lives

for my freedom's sake.

REST IN PEACE,

Tysyacha

My great-uncle, Kenneth Cady, died April 1, 1945 in WWII in Germany.

My grandfather, another great-uncle, and father-in-law served in WWII. My dad served in the Navy, and JimboFett66 is home after 18 months of active duty.

Thanks to all those who have and currently serve their countries.

Happy Memorial Day to all!

I remember talking to my grandmother earlier about ancestors who have died in the previous wars. I didn't know this, but my grandfather's great grandfather fought in the civil war and many other relatives of his fought in the other wars as well. My grandmother has had plenty of her relatives and my ancestors fight in wars too.

Happy Memorial Day!
