You've got to be kidding me

Ok, I've had it, I'm gonna try to explain this one more time and see if it gets through your heads:

About a week ago, I posted here asking about a certain movie, apparently based on Grim Fandango, I was answered by some loser not only the rumour was fake, but also that I had made the whole thing up and spread it all over the internet (which implies that in a few hours/days, I created 5 different movie-related websites from scratch, wrote enough articles in those sites just in case someone suspected they were fake, create a LOT of forum posts linking to these sites so that google would crawl them quickly and spark enough controversy so that this information would actually get to sites like gamespot, worldofmi and a lot of other sites with enough reputation not to believe the first thing they read on some random forum. WELL THAT SOUNDS PLAUSIBLE!) and some other losers are taking this as absolute truth. So now every time I write something here I always have someone telling me how much I suck for what I did. Well, I'm not gonna waste my time trying to convince you that I didn't, if you have braincells that actually work, you'll realize how ridiculous this idea is.

I rest my case. :twogun:

Dude... you've been caught out. Why do you keep arguing your innocence?

Your IP Address, dude. YOUR IP ADDRESS.

Boy, you are a tool!:fire2:

My IP adress tells you that I edited the wikipedia article and added a comment on worldofmi.com, and I did both things, big deal!

I added some new information on wikipedia regarding the credits and all, according to what I had read so far.

As for the comment on worldofmi... no point in explaining that...

Hey dude! I heard that Disney is actually making a movie based on The Secret Of Monkey Island! I'm sure by tomorrow this will be on the front page of every magazine!

The reason we know you're lying though is that you said you'd found the wikipedia article, and pointed to it as truth to the movie claims. The thing is, Wes... the wikipedia article was WRITTEN by you. That's not all. You've also gone to Idlethumbs, registered, and plonked your links down there as well. And then you try and argue your innocence, when you're the source of these lies!

They're not rumours. They're lies. They begin and end with you.

The thing with Wikipedia is that you can view every change made to a page, and who made it... so from here we can see that the page was created by Wesborland, then Dcclark fixed a few links. On July 17th Ja2ke adding in a proposition to delete the article, and the same day Wesborland deleted that proposition (against the rules) and added in a description game and production details.

I'm not trying just trying to get you in trouble or anything. I report news like that to a lot of people on my GF site, so when I hear a story like this one I have to find out if it's true or not. And right now it's looking very unlikely.

By the way, on the 18th Ja2ke put up the deletion proposition again and someone else called Yankees2003 deleted it. Different person...?

Nick, you're not speaking to a community of retards here. We can see when we're being taken for a ride, and with the knowledge that you are the same person who both created and continually maintained the Wikipedia article for roughly a week and a half, your trickery is as transparent as glass.

And do you seriously think we can't see how you've been constantly feeding links to us, other sites, and other forums? And don't use that "How could I create all those sites?!" argument, because anybody with a little web and Photoshop knowledge could easily whip those up in a few hours. If you can even call them 'sites', that is.

Give it up, move on. We have.

You have to admit, Nick, that it looks very suspicious. Every time someone suspected the rumour, you had a new link ready to be posted. If you didn't do this, how come you were always the first to find the sites? I'm not saying you created all of them (some probably just reported the rumour they had seen elsewhere) but some of them were most likely made by you.

Despite this, I don't really see why some people are so upset. If someone really believed in the movie rumour so much that Thrik and James Isaac's revelation came as a shock, then they deserved to be fooled.

Besides, when was the last time we had this many members post so excitedly in the same thread and actually talk about something? I don't know about anyone else, but I had fun. :)

Yeah, The Movie Center was a little older and had several posts on it before the Grim Fandango nonsense. Problem is that I've used WordPress, and I know for a fact that you can specify the dates of posts and make them look like they were posted whenever you want.

Over, Nick. Over.
