TiE23
*Plays computer....* *Sniffs* "Someone leave the hair dryer on?" *Sees flames leep out back of back of computer from too much awesomeness in one area* Sounds bitching, but it does sound like it would be hot. Tyrion
Sounds bitching, but it does sound like it would be hot. That's the beauty of it: with all the extra space freed up, you could have the Fort Knox of heatsinks in there.
BongoBob
Wouldn't your graphics get outdated rather fast though?
toms
Wow.. it will be like in the old days when the processor did all the graphics processing too.. before the good days of extra $500 graphics cards.. Now all we can spend our spare $500 is extra PhysX cards. Seriously though.. for laptops this would be excellent.. as they usually don't have upgradable graphics cards anyway.. plus it would saveon space and hopefully heat. For desktops, its a mixed bag. It would be a big step towards making Intel and AMD different.. and it would mean you'd (maybe) have less flexibility in adding graphics options to suit your needs. Though I guess like now with integrated motherboard graphics, you could always bypass it if you added a new card. On the other hand it might make the PC a viable games platform again.. rather than its current state of beng split between a small hardcore of gamers with advanced graphics cards.. and a mass market which can only play Cards and Minesweeper with their out-of-the-box pcs. It'll probably be low end at first though.. the equivilent of current integrated graphics.. be good for making sure all pcs can run Vista Aero though... MrWally
Wow this is pretty interesting actually. It seems to open up loads of possibilities, but I agree with Bongo... Considering how often people upgrade their graphics cards, but how usually stick with their original proc for years, you would think that the GPU would get outdated rather quickly... RoxStar
Wouldn't your graphics get outdated rather fast though? Your processor gets outdated at an equal rate of fastness, its just that nobody really cares. *shrug*
