Red Steel shuriken!

Ok so in the October Issue of GameInformer (#162) there is an Advertisement for the Red Steel game, which is to come out on the Wii. So it shows you how to make a shuriken. But on the shuriken is writing both japanese and english. And its a puzzle, so i put it together and on one side it says "You are as pitiful as your paper weapon." On the back, "I can train even you. 1-877-RRD-STLL" So i pondered calling the number for awhile, then i did. And the guy at the other end is just funny!

So i found that to be an awesome advertisement!

whoa sweet! That is a nice ad.

Gah, now I wish I had renewed my GI subscription, but I have no money.

because... I'm just a poor boy... I need no sympathy... because I'm easy come, easy go. A little high, a little low. Anywhere the windblows, it doesn't really matter to me.

To me.

Speaking of Red Steel and other First Person type games for Wii... so far there are three pioneers of the genre for Wii. Retro Studios who are developing Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, Ubisoft who is developing Red Steel and Treyarch who are developing Call of Duty 3.

So far from what I hear, Metroid Prime 3 on expert mode is the best in terms of controls with Call of Duty 3 right there next to it and Red Steel behind. The thing to remember though is that these are pioneering games, these controls have never actually been done before and these are first generation FP games for Wii, it's gonna be like Super Mario 64 in a way... It'll lay down the base for all future FP games... and who knows... maybe one day soon we'll get the Ocarina of Time of FP games for Wii that will blow us all away in terms of gameplay.

But right now, with these first generation FP titles, we'll find faults and imperfections, a lot of what we will experience won't be as great as what we want done. It's not the hardwares fault, and it's not really the developers fault, it's just a learning process of how to make these games work with this totally new control system.
