Luke.Skywalker Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Is Uthar Wynn's last name pronounced the way it looks or by Vynn? I forget when and who but I remember some one in game pronounced his name as Vynn. Also in the Latin language, Ws are pronounced as Vs.
Mace MacLeod Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 It's Wynn. Both in spelling and pronunciation.
Melly Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 It's pronounced with the 'V' sound according Kriea in K2, but spelled Wynn.
igyman Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I'd say it's something between a clear W and a clear V.
Mace MacLeod Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 ????????? Really? I don't remember it ever sounding like a "V"...
Negative Sun Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 It's pronounced with the 'V' sound according Kriea in K2, but spelled Wynn. When does Kreia talk about Uthar in TSL?
Miltiades Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 On Korriban, when the exile nears one of the tombs or when (s)he enters the Academy, don't know exactly.
Darth InSidious Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Is Uthar Wynn's last name pronounced the way it looks or by Vynn? I forget when and who but I remember some one in game pronounced his name as Vynn. Also in the Latin language, Ws are pronounced as Vs. Actually, V's are pronounces as W's. So 'vel' is pronounced 'wel' etc Kreia says 'Vynn' outside Naga Sadow's tomb on Korriban. On the other hand, Wynn introduces himself as Uthar Wynn as I recall... I go with 'Wynn'.
Feagildin Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I've always pronounced it "vin", even b4 Kreia.
Melly Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Just checked the .tlk file for K1. Nowhere, except in the journal entries, is he referred to as "Uthar Wynn" just Master Uthar. I too always assumed it was "Vynn" like how you pronounce Richard Wagner, with a v sound.
