JasraLantill
"A lightsaber doesn't automatically mean 'Jedi,' Travis," Raze said. "No telling when this... person was encased in carbonite. For all we know, could have been well before the Clone Wars." She looked at Travis askance. "She could be a Dark Jedi... or even a Sith."
ForceFightWMe12
"I don't care what she is." Travis answered, "I just want to take apart that lightsaber!"
Grace
"As if a Jedi, Dark or otherwise would just let you take her lightsaber apart," Rita pointed out. "At any rate, I'd rather just use the thing!" Then, she thought about it for another second. "Or maybe by taking it apart, you'd figure out how to build one? And you could build one for me!" She grinned. "Yeah, ok! Take it apart."
steven
"Just wondering, is anyone else thinking we should get her to the infirmary?" Asked John "And Travis you are not touching that lightsaber, it's hers. You wouldn't like it if I randomly took Bif apart, would you?
ForceFightWMe12
"First things first..." Travis murmured, turning to look over his shoulder. "BIF!" The droid came striding smoothly out of the loading ramp, looking around with curious, young eyes. "My my...such a curious place..." "Yeah yeah, we'll give you a grand tour with the kinrath later." Travis muttered, "Feel like checking this chick for life signs?" Bif blinked a few times before noticing the carbonite-encased potential Jedi. "Oh, goodness!" "Yeah. Just scan her, will you please?" Bif knelt next to the box, and did just that. "There are...faint signs of life, Master Travis."
JasraLantill
"Great. A live...whatever. Okay, no one is thawing her out," Raze said firmly. She looked at Travis and Rita. "And that includes the lightsaber." She sighed, then rubbed her forehead. "I've got to think about this for a moment," she said, and she headed back towards the ramp. "Just... just don't touch it." JasraLantill
Raze whirled around to face Travis. "Well what do you want me to do? Thaw her out? Then not only will we have no cargo, and no fifty thousand, but likely no ship as well. Because if the Imps can detect a frozen Jedi, they damn sure can detect a live one--especially when they already know where to look!" Raze looked around the dark forest around her, then let out a frustrated sigh. "Ok, I know one thing you can do," she said to Travis. "Scan that thing for any sort of removable tracking devices or booby traps. If it's clean, load it back on the ship. But do not thaw it out!" It bothered Raze to leave someone frozen alive in carbonite, which was why she was referring to the Jedi as an 'it'. But whoever the woman was, she'd survived this long in the carbonite. Another few hours wouldn't hurt her. "We've got to figure out what to do with it," said Raze. "We can't leave it here. If the Imps find it, they'll punish the Wookiees even more than they have already. And I'm not going to be held responsible for a massacre." Master_Archon
Otak was probably the only one not surprised by the frozen woman, he'd seen crime lords do this before with particularly annoying cliants and bounties. Otak was too caught up in his thoughts and staring at the woman to pay attention to the tensious crew of the ship. Otak stepped towards the frozen woman. He had faced off against foes wielding similar weapons to the one she held. Otak knelt down and inspected the slab carefully, reaching out he tapped the woman's face with his figure, his claw tinging on the carbonite. He immediately felt something similar to a poke tap his mask. Otak jerked up and looked around, only to find nothing, and no one near him. So, if this woman wasn't dead, than it wasn't spirits teasing him. "Hm?" He mumbled to himself as he reached farther down, around the upper torso above the waist, and attempted to poke the slab there. Before he could even poke the area he was going for he felt something hit his hand, almost as if to slap away. "Mmm!? Sorry...forgot...private," he muttered to the slab. If someone was watching, they might have thought Otak was holding a wacky conversation with himself as he investigated the slab. Otak traced the cylinder, very familiar to parts of the weapons he attained from those other foes. He dubbed them the ultimate prey, they called them Jedi, or Sith, but it really didn't matter to him at the moment. Otak turned to the others, "I think she wants out," he muttered, barely audibly, but said no more, continuing his investigation of the frozen woman. starmark2k
"Maybe." Zam replied. "I heard that lifeformsput in carbonite enter a hibernation that essenitally puts them to sleep, but being a jedi She may still be aware... She is most probably the reason for all the weird stuff going on."
JasraLantill
"Oh, that's a comforting thought," Raze said to Zam. "Not only is she frozen, but she knows she's frozen, and she knows that we're here and not thawing her out." She sighed. "Wonderful." She looked at Zam. "Okay, I know I don't normally ask you for advice, but... what do you think we should do with... it."
starmark2k
"Well the way i see it we have three options." Zam began. "First, we put her back in the box avoid the imps best we can and still get paid. second, we give her to the imps, we don't get paid but at least we live. Or we can do the right thing get her out the carbonite, Maybe some answers but we won't get paid and the imps'll sill try to kill us... I'd hate to be the guy who'd have to decide, You." Rexraptor2000
Ulim had been listening intently the whole time, thought it didn't stop him from keeping an eye on his surroundings and said "The Jedi poses a threat to the Empire because it is from a time that the Empire has tried to remove from existence. It's awakening would be a large blow to their control because they rule with fear and crush hope. The Jedi would bring bravery and hope. The rebellion already in progress has already loosened their grip greatly. The Jedi would be a final blow towards destruction, assuming the Jedi has enough experience not to get killed when advancing towards that goal. I've killed Jedi before, and I do not doubt that it could bring victory." "Could, bring victory. If you choose to release the Jedi, then you risk the entire crew for the possibility of death should it fail. It also may hold prejudice towards my species, since my kind were the main Jedi hunters of the CIS during the war, I killing my fair shar of them also. If they have our codes, then it won't matter because even if we give the Jedi back as Zam suggested, they will still kill us. They don't give out forgiveness. And if they catch us without it, then we are still dead." Ulim knew his little speech sounded lop-side, but the shipmaster had the last say. JasraLantill
Zam was right, Raze thought. There were three options--ditch their cargo and not get paid, try to deliver the cargo and get paid, or revive the Jedi and deliver her to the Rebellion. The third option was obviously the more moral one, and there still could be some money it in it for them as a reward. Not anywhere close to 50,000, but.... At any rate, handing their cargo over to the Empire was just not an option. And Ulim was right, too. They would all be publically executed for treason against the Empire for even associating themselves with a Jedi--frozen or not. "Ok," she said after a long think. "Whatever decision is made, it affects all of us. So, I'm going to do something I haven't ever done before." She sighed. "We'll put it to a vote. Option one, we ditch our cargo, don't get paid, and probably will have a hard time finding another job for a while. Option two, we keep the cargo as it is, avoid the Imperials as best we can, deliver the cargo and get paid--if we're still alive by that time. And option three..." She looked down at the carbonite encased Jedi. "... we thaw her out and try to hand her over to the Rebellion. There might be a reward, but that's not guaranteed, and most likely we'll still have a hard time getting another job in future." She looked at all of the crew in turn. "Everyone gets one vote." Her eyes lingered on Travis. "And that means you, too. You don't get two votes because of Bif. If he wants to vote, he votes on his own accord, not because you told him to." She looked down at the Jedi, then shook her head. "You know, what I'd really like to know, is who she's going to. Who's the buyer." She looked up at the rest of the crew again. "But that can wait for another time. So, let's vote. And as captain, I reserve the option to vote last."
starmark2k
"I gotta' go for the moral option here, No one deserves what shes gong through at the moment." Zam voted. "For all we know the guy we're transporting her too could be some kind of slaver."
Dark_Lady
"Yeah, nobody deserves to be perpetually frozen, especially if they know it," Flick stated.
Rexraptor2000
"The buyer is most likely dead, since the empire would not allow anyone besides themselves to live with the knowledge of a living Jedi. Get rid of the Jedi and they will still hunt us down and get the Jedi regardless. The Rebellion is the only option I see at the moment. As for awakening the Jedi at the moment, I'm still skeptical on that topic, with us being on an Empire controlled slaveworld, regardless of who our friends are." JasraLantill
Ulim's comments created a disturbing thought in Raze's head. "You're right, Ulim," she said to him. "The Empire wouldn't allow anyone besides themselves to live with the knowledge of a living Jedi. Which makes me wonder if Phee's 'buyer' isn't an Imperial in the first place." She looked at Zam. "And that would make sense for why they are looking for us." She donned a sardonic grin. "They don't want to pay Phee's fee. "So, that's two votes for waking her, one for just taking her to the Rebels as is," she said to the rest of the crew. "Travis? You've been unusually silent. What's your vote?" ForceFightWMe12
Travis frowned, looking around at everyone. "The Empire is going to try and kill us any way we cut the deck." he murmured, "And I suppose that now that I know that she knows that we know that she's frozen in carbonite...I saw we crack the cube and hope that we don't run across another Imperial squadron." JasraLantill
"Ok, so that's three for unthaw, one to leave her as is and deliver her to the Rebels." She looked at Rita and John, and then at Otaktay. "Otaktay, I know you're just a passenger, and not really a member of the crew, but the decision we make will affect all of us. You get a vote, too. Rita? John? What say you?"
steven
"Unfreeze her," John said "For all we know she's traveling this way in her own free will. I guess we'll know once we unfreeze her. Ironic thing is in history lessons in school I was taught that the Jedi were evil and treachours, and how our 'rightous emperor was forced to exterminate them to protect his people. And then I went home, had tea and went to bed where my father told me his war stories and how the honourable Jedi fought back the Seperatists from Mandalore. I guess this is my chance to see who was right?" John then turned to Raze "You ever meet a Jedi?"
JasraLantill
Raze was quiet for a moment. "Yeah," she said finally. "I've met Jedi. In the Clone Wars. And I've met the other side of that same coin as well." She took a deep breath, recalling her encounter with Count Dooku and his apprentice, a Dark Jedi called K'Nala. "You know this ship we're flying in? It used to belong to Count Dooku. A Sith Lord. And his apprentice, a Dark Jedi called K'Nala." She looked down at the frozen woman. "If this one is a Jedi, fine. We could unthaw her. But we don't know who she is. And if she's a Sith, or a Dark Jedi, that'll be trouble. Big trouble." She turned to Rita. "So, what's your opinion, Rita? You've been uncharacteristically silent. A nice change, but a bit disconcerting given our present circumstances."
Grace
"Hmm?" Rita mumbled absently as she stared away into the forest. Her eyes refocused and she stared down at the carbonite encased woman. "Oh! Right. Unfreeze her." She grinned, resuming her normal behavior. "More interesting that way."
Master_Archon
Otak, beyond Raze, had last vote, he was still examining the frozen woman, when he finally realized that they were waiting on his say. He looked up at Raze, he sympathised with her on her meeting Jedi and Sith, he had met both...and killed both. "I say..." he hesitated, but felt a hard tap on the side of his head. "Unfreeze her...being frozen's no way to go on in life....and if she's a Sith, Ulim and I will...kill her," he finished, glancing over at the slab. "Sith...Jedi, no matter...they're tough, but they die like every other person...some more like cowards," he stated dryly. Turning his attention back to the slab, he continued his observation.
