JediMaster12
Here is what everyone has been asking and begging me for. I swear you people drive me crazy Anyway here is the long awaited answer to Revan's poem of Asking for Forgiveness. I will not tell you who is writing this as I leave it to you to surmise the answer. There is a word of caution that it is sentimental and has the mushy stuff in it. Also there is a reference to one of my diddies that I wrote as well. It is recommended that you read Asking for Forgiveness first before this one, then it makes perfect sense. So without further ado: Love is Forgiveness A storm rages in my heart More so when we are apart As the days pass us by I can’t but wonder if it was a lie But I think back on past days When your face shown the sun’s rays Of selfless deeds that bring a light Always giving, fighting the good fight From the skies of Taris to Manaan’s seas There for you I’ll always be You fought in heat and fought in cold Your antics were turning me old Together we fought against the odds Picked up our crew, thank the gods Traveling towards uncertain doom The nine of us crammed in a room Then it happened and we were caught Our mission that Saul had sought There you stood, defiant and strong Surely what Saul said was wrong I found out who you were It couldn’t be, not her! There it was so deafeningly true The dark Lord Revan was you The others accepted and didn’t judge With stubborn me and my darkening grudge I told you that I swore an oath Yet to gain my trust you had a hope Now I say in difficult words My anger flew away with the birds Hate you I can’t though I’ve tried You looked at me ready to cry Forgive you I do In my heart this is true Wherever we go and whatever we do Together we’ll be for I love you
Diego Varen
Another good poem JediMaster12. I'm guessing that this is Carth's reply to Revan's poem. I like the way the poem flowed and I'm looking foward to more. Now I need to read the new Heart of Deception Chapter.
JediMaster12
Thanks Pottsie. Actually this is Carth's response. I have had people on KFM hound me for a response to Asking for Forgiveness so after about a year or six months, I can't decide or remember, I wrote it long at last. I picked out things that were relevant to the dialogue options and from what I gathered from other people's fics. Also as I mentioned, there is a reference to one of my diddies there, the whole nine in a room thing.
Cygnus Q'ol
I'll never look at Carth the same way again. JM-12, that was incredibly awesome. I just don't even know what else to say.
JediMaster12
Thank you Cynus, darling. I always appreciate your comments, even if it falls on the line of fawning Anyway I am glad you liked it. It took me awhile because I had to play the game again and get in the mood for it. Plus I actually found the time to write it.
Kas'!m
Nice 6^2 lines(or 36 for you slow people out there).
JediAthos
That was very cool JM12. I didn't read asking for forgiveness, but this is very well done. I never particularly thought of Carth as a poet, but I guess perhaps there situations and circumstances can bring out things in people.
JediMaster12
You'd be surprised JediAthos. I didn't think Carth a poet either but I figured that if you truly loved or cared for someone, you would do something like that to show how much you care. In this case, Carth was saying that he loved Revan. I hope you read Asking for Forgiveness and you will see Revan's view of things.
tk102
Love is Forgiveness ... @JediMaster12: I'm inspired! As a complete tangent to what I should be doing right now, I thought I'd try riffing on your poem. I just wanted to add some more cadence so the departures from it would be more dramatic. I tried to keep it as close to your original as possible. I hope that's okay. Love Is Forgiveness Storms that rage within my heart Were more so when we are apart The days proceed to pass us by I can't but wonder: was it a lie? But I think back upon past days When on your face shown the sun its rays Of selfless deeds that bring a light Always giving, fighting the fight From the skies of Taris to Manaan's seas There for you I'll always be You fought in heat and fought in cold Meanwhile Your antics turned me old Together we fought against the odds Picked up our crew, thank the gods Trav'ling towards uncertain doom The nine of us crammed in a room Then it happened and we were caught In our mission that Saul had sought There you stood, defiant and strong Surely what Saul had said was wrong I found out just who you were It couldn't be, not her! not her! There it was so stark and true ... the dark Lord Revan was you The others accepted and didn't judge With stubborn me and my dark'ning grudge I told you that I swore an oath Yet to gain my trust you had a hope Now I say in hard-sought words My angers flew away like birds I can't hate you though I tried You looked at me ready to cry --- --- Forgive you I do In my heart this is true Wherever we go and whatever we do Together we'll be for I love you
JediMaster12
That was good tk102. I see you like cadence in your poems. I was more or less thinking how Carth would respond. As I mentioned before, Carth doesn't seem the kind of guy who would write poetry so I was imagining I was a guy trying to say what I want to say and make it sound pretty for a girl. That is how I write by imagining who I am writing for and the type of mood I want to see. Yours was good as if it came from a person long experienced in writing poems. I hope that your version doesn't violate the rules because I like your version and I don't want you accused of plagarism
tk102
JediMaster12, I relinquish any and all claims to the version I posted. Please don't sue me for plagiarism or get me banned for rule violations. We know Jae is just looking to pull the trigger. :( Bwahahaha! You credited JM12, so that's not plagiarism. --Jae Eh, I'm not a poetry writer. Maybe it's because I play bass guitar that I hear rhythm in my head, especially when I read rhymes. Thanks for encouraging me to make my first post in this forum, even if it is a bit I hijack and strictly against forum rules.
The_Catto
Great work JM-12. I like the use of words and how you portrayed the images to show how much Carth loves Revan. Excellent job!
